I love these fasteners! You can create your own filing system anytime with anything you have on hand. I've used them on monthly reports Ikeep track of and so far they are going strong and it's been 5 years. I open and close them several times a month and I've never had one break on me. I simply use a two-hole punch for my papers and clip them at the top of any thing. Wonderful product--- Can't live without them.
I purchased this tool to install Shaw Epic 3/8 inch thick engineered hardwood flooring. Unlike most flooring that is installed by stapling through the top of the tongue, this particular flooring requires stapling through the lower groove. This means that the guide needs to sit just about 1/8 inch off the floor to drive the staple in the correct position. Unfortunately, there are very few tools fit this specification, and the ones that do cost $*** and up. The less expensive adjustable staplers (including this one) seem to have a minimum setting of 1/2 inch. Given the great price of this tool, I decided to take a chance to see if I could adapt it to work. I was easily able to modify the guide by grinding about an 1/8 inch off the metal part of it, and then I extended the adjustment slots in the plastic part. Once I did this, the guide shoe fit perfectly onto the lower section of the groove in the flooring planks and the staples were driven correctly. The exhaust cap on top of the tool is metal, so I am able to use a rubber mallet to give a gentle tap there for seating the planks, then a pull of the trigger drives a staple. I've laid a few hundred square feet of flooring so far, and the tool has performed flawlessly. I am very happy with this tool, especially given the great price. Note that it also comes with a standard guide head, so when not needed for flooring, it can be used as a regular pneumatic stapler.
I run a small engine repair shop and I work on a lot of chainsaws. I needed to be able to sharpen the chains. Well, the lowest cost quality sharpener I can find is a $200.00 Oregon. I can't afford that right now but I had to have something NOW. So I had no choice but to take a chance on the absolute cheapest sharpener I could find. So I bought the Buffalo Tools sharpener. You can't imagine how shocked I was when I realized it actually works! I've sharpened several chains with it and it works GREAT! First off, DON'T BE AN IDIOT. It's PLASTIC, the threaded parts are PLASTIC, DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN ANYTHING THAT IS PLASTIC!!! Have I stressed that enough? Most of the bad reviews I've seen are from people that over tighten everything and break or strip out the plastic. Take it easy with this thing and you'll be fine. One thing I noticed is the clear plastic guard you have to look through is thick and distorts what you're looking at. Take it off and throw it away. You also have to turn the motor off between each cut. This is no big deal because where you drape your hand over the top of the unit to pull it down your fingers rest right on the on/off buttons and they click on and off very easily. After one chain you'll be doing this automatically. For under $40.00 I couldn't be happier. Some day I'll get me a good Oregon sharpener but until then this will do just fine.
I bought this for someone as payback for a favor, so I can't provide a review. Wish I could be of more help, but I didn't use it. I can tell you that when the box was opened, all the parts were nicely organized in a sturdy carrying case with compartments and squeeze slots for fittings. The bonus - and my reason for choosing this - was that it came with a cable-driven extension for use in narrow or curved places in which the body of the rotary motor won't fit. I found this accessory to be invaluable when a friend of mine had to cut out the topmost 2" section of 4" diameter PVC pipe that was buried in concrete. The circumferential cut to remove the top 2 inches of this submerged PVC had to be made from inside the pipe, and could not have been managed without the cable extension to his rotary tool. I don't know if Buffalo's rotary has as much torque or longevity as Dremel's, but it sure was a lot more affordable!
