A cast iron skillet... what's not to like. A must have for cooking & lasts forever. You will pass it on to your children. If you haven't owned one I suggest reading about it on the Lodge Web site & see recipies. I give these as wedding gifts along with book. Heavy as sin, but they have now added a great handle on both sides. Suggest u get the pot holder that fits directly handle too.
This skillet is like all Lodge pans - excellent. I use the pan daily for everything from frying bacon for breakfast to grilling chops in the evening. One of the best pans I have.
I have always been a fan of 14" pans but was never before happy with how uneven they cooked. This Cuisinart Hard-Anodized Aluminum Skillet is the difference. It heats evenly and cooks foods to perfection. I would recommend following the manufacturer's instructions to never use high heat to ensure proper cooking and extend the life of the pan.
