  • It was okay at first, but...

As far as looks, the set was fine. It goes together well, color was as represented, maybe a bit more tan than gray, but I liked that better anyhow. Was a piece of cake to assemble. After sitting in it not a handful of times, the backs became loose in the slide rails (goes together by sliding a bar in the backs through a rail base in the seat), the springs squeak something fierce when leaned against and the cushioning on the backs showed indents where your back sits against it. My husband is 195, not 350, so didn't expect that. We're not large people. Granted, it was not an overly expensive item, so I expected some wear and tear and not a stellar piece of rock-solid furniture over time, but did NOT expect it to be so with VERY minimal sitting. Didn't feel I had undue expectations, as it was bought as an extra option for seating with company. It is an "extra" piece of filler furniture and not our main seating, which I am very thankful for. If sitting in it just three times left marks, I cannot imagine if it was used daily. I'm nervous for what even a year will bring, if it will even remain usable. Returning it is not an option, as the boxes were thrown away after we'd seen it looked as represented. Our mistake. Again, didn't expect rock-solid but it is a little more flimsy than I'd like for the money. It behaves how I would expect a $*** sofa to do. That said, it does look very nice and wasn't overly expensive, given it comes with an ottoman. For $***, I would've expected to get at least some time out of it before noticing any wear marks is all. Disappointed with performance, pleased with the look of it. Just depends on what one would need it for I suppose.

First of all, the 1-star reviewer who complained about the ottoman interior is correct. This had already come apart by the time I first assembled it. I don't think it would be worth it to use this as an end table instead of an ottoman. But as an ottoman, it's mostly fine. THe biggest criticism I have of it is that there isn't a notch or groove construction to keep the top of the ottoman from sliding off. My 2 year-old nephew almost fell in it when he climbed up to sit on it. There are notched brackets on the back of the loveseat are supposed to slide in and lock to the seat. These were just slightly misplaced, so fitting the back into the seat was actually really difficult. I had to just a mallet to pound the brackets out a bit just to make them fit. But once that worked, it came together great. That aside, the set is very nice. It's the right size for my home, as I needed a pretty small sofa or loveseat in order to fit it into my downstairs media room, which has an awkward door angle that won't allow a very long piece of furniture around the corner. I love the upholstery and the firmness, and I hope it lasts a very long time.

  • Fell apart in a matter of weeks

After receiving this product which I must admit came really quickly, we had the set for about 4 weeks before the top of the ottoman separated and the legs to the ottoman became wobbly. The ottoman is a storage ottoman that when flipped, can be used for as a table of sorts. We never got to use it as a table at all. The leather part that is attached tot he top that you use when you flip the top over completely separated from the top altogether. I actually bought the warranty, but when i called to use the warranty and they came out to work on it, they let us know that the warranty is only for cleaning and not for repairing anything. So the extra $50 I spent on the warranty was not worth it at all. If I could return it I would.

  • Love this set!

I'm always hesitant to purchase furniture and clothes off the internet but I'm glad I went ahead with this order. This couch is not a lounger, meaning, you aren't going to sink into it while you are watching a movie, but it is unique and hip. The linen fabric is strong, and slightly rough but seems very durable. The cushions are firm, the back being even more so, but I find it comfortable for myself and guests. Keep in mind this is a small couch (borderline love seat) which works perfectly for the smaller place I moved into. Also assembly is very simple and this couch and chair are very study IF you assemble correctly. It took a while on the couch to make sure the back slid correctly into the slots. I read in other reviews that the back was wobbly, this simply means you didn't get it in correctly. (I know, I didn't do it right initially either). There are also fabric storage compartments under the couch and chair and the ottoman opens up creating a sturdier storage area. My only problem with this set is that the ottoman is HUGE, the same height and size as the chair so it can't really be used as a foot rest. It does better being used int he corner (like the picture shows) or as a coffee table-esk thing. Overall this was a great purchase for me! I love the color, style, and durability! It is a cute set that is definitely in trend.
