I bought this to update and retrofit an ancient bath/shower in my condo. Happy to say it fits. The escutcheon is metal, as is the overflow cover, shower arm, flange, push/pull stem, and drain assembly. The push/pull knob is plastic, the tub spout assembly is plastic, and the shower head is plastic (disappointed in those). Escutcheon holes are at 5 o'clock and 7 o'clock. I was anxious when I received this item, because the box it was in was ripped, beat up, and taped closed by whoever bought it before me and returned it. Not sure if they are all like that or if I was just the lucky duck to get a used item advertised as new. May explain why it was 20 dollars cheaper on O than anywhere else that had them. Oh well - it works, I'm satisfied.
A semi-trash pump with hoses as listed typically retails for more than twice this amount. My expectations were therefore not all that high and but I only need the pump infrequently. So although I did have some trouble based on quality of construction, it came as no surprise and fortunately was not an insurmountable problem. I had to clean out the pump as the impellers had been fouled. There are 4 - 13mm bolts holding the aluminum housing together. One of them had been overtorqued at the factory and came out with aluminum threads of the backplate. On re-assembly, it was not possible to seal the housing enough to maintain suction for even 5 feet of lift. After scrounging around, I found a metric nut to put on the fouled bolt and was back in business. Some corners were cut like plastic tubes on the discharge hose fittings and a plastic strainer. I would suggest that the latter be replaced by a metal one as it also suffers from tiny holes (roughly 1/8). On the good side, the motor is one of the XXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXX-XXXX which seems to be pretty solid, the frame is adequate, and the impeller and associated bowl are cast iron. When air-leaks were resolved, it pumped quite well for several hours without hiccup. So in my mind, it was well worth the price.
This was actually a very good deal for the price. I thought the metal trims were very good quality but the shower head is very poor. All parts of this are metal except the spout of the shower head which is like a plasticy rubber. Honestly, I'd still buy this product again because the price was *** and these items separately on amazon were something like, *** for tub faucet, *** for drain, *** for overflow drain, *** for neck, *** for neck trim, and *** for a cheap-o plastic escutcheon and knob. So even though the shower head is crap, all the rest of the trims make up for it... Also, the escutcheon was dented when I received the product. I asked for a return and they shipped a new one out immediately and I had it within 2 days.
So far so good. Larger than I expected. The spray nozzle surrounding metal gets really hot if you are using hot water. Almost too hot to touch. The little handle that turns the water on keeps coming loose. I love the look but feel the design is flawed.
