We have a lot of stray cats in our neighborhood. They are a nuisance prowling all over the place and using neighbors' yards as kitty litter. I took a chance and bought this trap. You need this large size trap to catch cats. You also need to bait it correctly, set the trigger, place a newspaper inside covering the bottom of the cage and the trigger plate. Then cover it with an old blanket over the top and sides. Leave the back and front exposed so the cat can see and smell the bait. A few hints: Use wet bait - a canned cat food is good put it on a small disposable plate. Also, weigh down the papers with a few little rocks so the wind doesn't blow it around. When you catch the cat keep the cage covered so that it keeps calm. Do NOT open the cage to try and feed it water, as the cat will more than likely scratch you and/or escape. Call your local Animal Control to come take it away. Also, keep the cage with the cat out of sunlight as this will make the cat overheat and possibly die.
I ordered a similar three wick citronella candle bucket from another brand, and it was smaller and yet more expensive than this one. It's a good thing to have on a patio or deck in the summer.
