Great table, very unique and very functional. A focal point in our living room!
After finding this exact dining table, I searched the name of the manufacturer on Overstock and managed to find the matching end tables and a bench. I bought the entire collection to match a daybed of the same kind, which I found via an importer of fine handmade furniture. I was ecstatic! First off, the price here on Overstock is about 3/4 off the original, if I compare it to my daybed. This is not your run-of-the-mill, assemble-it-yourself furniture. Each item is made of solid, heavy treated wood, which weighs a great deal for its size, and which has a kind of weathered look that isn't over-the-top, and will last for ages looking exactly as it does now. No need to worry about coasters or scratches. As to this side table specifically, it is taller than I expected... given that I planned to place it near the bench, which I am using as a coffee table for the daybed. However, when placed between two arm-chairs, the height blended better. In other words, the table is still higher than most end tables, but this very fact allows the beauty of the carving to show. You must incorporate the table into your design not as a side item but as a centerpiece. I am still waiting on the armchairs that this table will accompany. I am certain that the final effect will be beautiful--not merely for itself, but since the ensemble of side tables, bench, daybed (and dining room / kitchenette) will tie the space harmoniously. I am 52 and not particularly strong, yet I had no trouble assembling the table on my own. It came with a dedicated wrench. Each of the four legs requires two screws and bolts, which come fasted to the table to prevent loss. You simply unscrew the bolts, place the corresponding number on the leg with the corresponding one on the table, then slip the bolts and tighten the screws. Very easy! One sad fact: One of the bottom pieces of a leg had chipped off. It was still in the wrapping and I glued it. The defect can no longer be seen. I can't say enough about how sturdy and gorgeous these items of furniture are!
This table is so beautiful and was very easy to assemble. It's sturdy and looks like the pictures. The only thing I dont like is how the screws on the face of the table show and make it obvious that there is a bold showing. Otherwise I'm in love with it.
I love this little table. The scrolling on the sides is beautiful and the turned legs add to its elegance. The only thing I wasn't ecstatic about was that the color could be a little more defined, as it could be somewhat darker. But, other than that (and I can do that later if I want), it's great... perfect size!
