My wife and I looked for quite some time for a large rug that would work well in our new warehouse apartment. For anyone starting their search, you'll find so many options of colors and materials that it can be very confusing. In the end, we wanted to avoid buying a rug made with olefin or other plastic materials, and were prepared to spend a little more for a natural wool rug. When the rug arrived, it was so heavy that it took myself and another person just to tip it up onto a push cart to move it. It's very heavy! Once we got it unwrapped and unfolded, we noticed that it had more light green and light gold hues than the reds indicated in the picture, but we still love it. It's very plush with a very dense weave, and feels great to walk on! It does shed though, and we knew from other peoples reviews that this is to be expected for the first few months of vacuumings. In all, we're very happy with the rug!
We ordered this for our master bedroom, and love it! We had it shipped directly to a carpet installer's warehouse here to have it cut down and bound a foot to fit in our bedroom. For a few days, we did notice a slight smell (I wouldn't call it an odor, as it wasn't offensive) that was like new carpet smell. Because this is made of olefin, I'm not surprised. I know I couldn't have found such a plush rug in town for this price. We have it in a low traffic area and hope it lasts for a long time. The beige color is made of up 2 different thread tones to give it a nice overall beige. I was torn between ordering it and the ivory, and am glad that I did go with the beige to camouflage traffic patterns more, and it blends very well with my décor. You will not regret the feel of this rug if you order it -- just perfect for taking off your shoes at the end of the day, or a great feel first thing in the morning!
