This is a decent item. It's somewhat sturdy. One of the side boards has split, but it has held up pretty well over the last 9 months. Do I think this will last for years and years? No, I don't. But it should be good for at least a couple of years.
Looked nice the first year. Then began to fall apart after winter weather got hold of it. Next year, the bottom gave way under the weight of the saturated dirt. also, the front panel warped and buckled in the sunlight. Bottom line, looks are deceiving.
This planter is a good size, but I found it to be a little too shallow for getting good results. I did paint it white and it looks very pretty. It also has good storage on the bottom for gardening tools, watering can, etc. I like the lattice on the back for climbing vegetables. I have now had it for two seasons and it is wearing a little bit. It is good for growing an herb garden on your deck or patio.
Fell apart in the first rain and warped.
I loved the design of this planter. It was exactly what I was looking for. BUT it was incredibly cumbersome to install (the holes did not align with each part, some were missing and required drilling). Once assembled, I was quite happy, BUT after 4 weeks, the bottom started bowing (the construction could not support the weight of the dirt in the planter) and the finish is already weathered. We had to attach 2x4s both length and width all across the bottom to keep the bed from collapsing. This will likely not make it through the season. Lovely design, shoddy construction and cheap materials.
After on line shopping at several sites, the Outsunny Garden Planter Bed at Overstock was a best buy overall. The rear grid wall is a nice addition. It took 2 people about 2 hours to put it together. Basil, parsley, rosemary, thyme and mint are growing nicely. There were some problems with the directions, but I would still recommend this product
