I was able to assemble in about 15 minutes. The product is plastic made to look like stone but not too heavy for me to handle. The molded pieces did not fit exactly as they were suppose to when twisted together but no one would know looking at it fully assembled. The molded holes that let the water flow from top to bottom are not consistent in size so some flow well while others drip..but again, this was not a deal breaker. Overall, it works well, lights up at night, has a nice water sound, and it a nice accent in my yard. I think the price was pretty good too compared to local garden stores. The solar panel is about 5" x 7" and black with a cord and needs to be hidden somewhere yet getting direct sunlight. The unit does not use electricity at all, only the solar panel.
Nice appearance; fairly loud sound from water splashing. Design flaws: 1. Bottom basin is 2" too short from front to back; water splashes out constantly, even when basin is full. 2. 3rd basin is 1" too short from front to back; water splashes out even when basin is full. 3. I live in MN; we have Cottonwood trees which bloom profusely each Spring. Filters glued to sluice openings on 2nd and 3rd basins are useless, Cottonwood seeds become entangled in the filters, and root within 24 hours, plus there are too many of the seeds to be able to keep the filters clear. (I removed them and replaced with screening.) 4. Screens should be designed for all basin openings to catch seeds, etc. from the air. ( I used clear Velcro and bronze-colored netting to make my own.) These screen sets could then be sold at additional cost, and would make the fountain much more user friendly 5 Plastic hose connecting pump to upper basin is too short; pump cannot attach itself to bottom of fountain via suction cups and therefore water level must be very carefully monitored. 6. Lights in fountain were a disappointment. My fountain is placed on a small balcony, and I sit not three feet away. The lights in basins two, three and four are visible and much too bright at that distance, so I have not used them at all. 7. It was my intention to keep the fountain running 24/7, however the water level is too sensitive for this, especially since the pump is not anchored to the base. I only have it running when I am on or close to the balcony. I do not remember seeing anything in the advertisement of this fountain that indicated it should be used in a space "x" size or larger. Such a recommendation would have been informative in the decision-making process. Finally, I do appreciate that the fountain fits in a corner. That was my number one criteria in purchasing it for use in a small space. I will keep it for a year or two, then look for something more suitable for my needs.
after a trip to Scotland i fell in love with all the adorable highland sheep. this planter is such a lovely reminder of those times. it looks exactly like the photograph and it's light weight. great purchase.
Be prepared to iron as these came wound around a cylinder but worth it! After all the ironing was done... ugh... about 15 minutes per panel (7 panels!)... they went up with ease. LOVE the velcro tabs ~ just slipped them right over my pre-hung curtain rods. They are so sheer and breezy and helped give my room a relaxed, "beachy" vibe. Glad I went with these. :)
