Love this ottoman - it is well made and has tons of storage inside that is nicely lined with felt. I use it to store all my crochet stuff and yarn and it's easy to put away and easy to keep everything neat! The only complaints I have is that the piping is very beige/tan in color and I wish it was white or even light gray. The gray itself is also on the taupe-ish side, with a little brown/warm tone to it. My place is very industrial and everything else in my place is more blue/gray or white. But we still love the ottoman and it's the perfect height for propping up your feet.
I was very pleased with the sturdiness of the ottoman. It is very comfortable to sit on while tying my shoes, the perfect height to rest my feet on and the tray side holds plenty with a perfect lip to contain things and keep them from being knocked down.
This ottoman is exactly what I was looking for in quality, color, functionality and price. It will go perfectly in my newly remodeled, contemporary family room. It arrived in six days, very well packed. Although I am satisfied, I was unaware that bonded leather is not actually REAL leather. In Wikipedia it states... "The actual leather content of bonded leather varies depending on the manufacturer and the quality level they are selling. In the home furnishings industry there is much debate and controversy over the ethics of using the term "bonded leather" to describe a vinyl upholstery product. The Leather Research Laboratory has said that calling this product "bonded leather" is 'deceptive because it does not represent its true nature. It's a vinyl, or a polyurethane laminate or a composite, but it's not leather'."
I read the earlier reviews of this products and decided to ignore the bad. I was wrong. This product was exactly what I was looking for in terms of size, color and quality of leather. However, it arrived with a cut in the leather along the side of the ottoman and when you flip the cushions over to use the trays, I discovered that the finishing of the products (the way the leather is attached underneath the trays) was very badly done. The leather wasn't pulled tight and seemed to just be stappled down with industrial sized staples. Why they didn't do that underneathe the tray is beyond me, it would have covered the staples and edges of the leather nicely. The whole point of the product is to use the trays and if that hasn't been done correctly, well then there really is no reason to get an ottoman that is supposed to be 'flipable'.
