My TV room was looking kind of square so this oval shaped ottoman rounds things off. The ottoman is the right height for putting up my legs and relaxing. It's wide enough for the cats to share with me while I'm relaxing and the depth is just right to fit it between the sofa and coffee table. This could also be used as a sitting stool in a pinch. The legs are solid wood with a brownish gray wash. Each leg is attached underneath the cushion top with two bolts so it's not wobbly. It's a bit of a challenge to get the bolts and bolt holes lined up but once you accomplish that putting the whole thing together is a snap. The fabric on the top is sort of like a smooth denim texture and the design pattern is a print as opposed to a woven pattern. I like this ottoman enough to recommend it to you for purchase.
Before ordering this ottoman I read every single review. Seems that there was a lot of complaints about the color of the ottoman not being as pictured or as described. An accurate description of the color of fabric is a true taupe. It is not gray, purple, or anything other than taupe. The base is similar to a natural colored barnwood with a light whitewash finish. It is not gray as pictured. Color was not an issue for me because I planned to recover the top in leather and paint the base if necessary. I ordered this ottoman strictly based on the PRICE, DESIGN, and QUALITY of construction. I have looked at hundreds of ottomans and was planning to have one custom made until I saw this one. You can not find an ottoman of this quality for the price. The base is perfect for what I needed and the price is so inexpensive that I can afford to make the changes necessary to create a custom ottoman.
