The reviews for this cabinet were great, so I purchased 2 to hold fabric for my sewing studio. After my husband assembled them and I was putting them in place they just don't feel like they are "solid". I'm obviously not moving them around, but it's as if the hardware just doesn't get the joints tight enough (feel wobbly). They look great, but don't feel solid. If you are using it for display where you aren't accessing it much it would be fine. I know other reviewers have it in their bath. I wouldn't buy again for a cabinet that is used in a high traffic sort of way.
I needed a shoe storage by my front door to wrangle our daily work and workout shoes that manage to never make it to our bedroom closet, but drive me nuts even when nicely lined up by the door. I also needed a place to leave keys and mail while having the proverbial "junk" drawer for the stuff you need that never seems to have a proper place. This little cabinet solved all of those needs while working with my decor at a price point I was willing to pay. I checked out all of the IKEA ones in person and found that I either didn't like the color, their features or their size in my space. I found this on Overstock and the price was comparable, had my required features and nice looking design so I purchased it. It arrived well packaged but we suspect it may have been a previously returned item by some of the things we noticed. This is NOT IKEA instructions or assembly. My boyfriend (who is a mechanical engineer) and I assembled it together in about 2 hours. A lot of our assembly came by way of reasoning through the pieces functions and NOT the included instructions which gave the gist without the details. I would not set heavy items on it, nor haphazardly throw shoes in it because I am not confident it could withstand harsh use, but for two careful adults the item works well.
