I wanted to leave the drapes open when the Christmas tree was showing thru the slider this past holiday season. Living on a first floor, I wanted privacy as well. Placing the screen behind the tree worked well. It's pretty and unobtrusive in the small space.

My Shoji screen is beautiful, fully functional, super easy to move (if needed), built hefty, its not just rice paper it is heavier paper, have to say I love it, would and have highly recommend to everyone, a must have, well worth the price, works beautiful in my new house in front of my huge garden tub, I suggest to everyone look over the others and purchase this one, also it has exceeded my expectations, super cute, taller than me, you can't see thru but light comes in perfect!!! I bought this to somewhat "hide" the back of our flat screen TV, stand, and associated wires/cables that were viewable as our television was kind of angled against the wall instead of flat against it. It is perfect, just as pictured. The only thing I didn't realize was that the wood pieces that form the rectangles along the rice paper are only on one side, whereas I kind of pictured the rice paper as being mounted between each rectangle so that the panels looked the same from both sides. But because the rice paper is so transparent, the benefit of seeing the rectangles is still received from the back. Good price, looks great in my living room, adds some pizazz without clashing and calling too much attention to itself.
