I love this rug. The quality of the workmanship and wool is lovely. I love that it is dyed with vegetable dye like the old way of doing things. The only negative is that there is an area at each corner that looks as if the color either wasn't finished or the dye kind of bled. It is still quite beautiful and I will be showing it in my bedroom with pride. And it might be the nature of the carpet. It is definitely NOT distracting from the beauty of the piece.
I have been looking for this color of a rug for 1 year to go with a chandelier I purchased. Finally ecarpetgallery came out with the perfect matching color I needed. My search is over! With most Persian vintage rugs you have to sacrifice comfort for color, which is the case here. If your looking for a soft carpet with somewhat of a raised pile this is not the one. Although this check the box for color it does not check the box for comfort. This rug is very structured and some what stiff, the feel is almost like cardboard to the point that you can hear the sound when walking on it. I thought adding a plush pad would help, it did not. The nature of the rug is not to be soft but there's no doubt that this rug will out last my life time.
This rug is lovely and looks just like the photo. A couple of things to think about, though. One is that the rug isn't very straight -- not uncommon in hand-made rugs. The other is that you should look at the bottom of the rug in the photo -- to see how the color changes for the last 2 feet or so. A little distracting but still very pretty.
