Copper Canister Set This set is adorable even sweeter than the photos. Some of the lids are very tight but I just ran a light coat of regular cooking oil around and they work great. The inside is not copper but is a food safe metal. The hammered look is very authentic and the handles are a very authentic brass look. Sizing is appropriate. They look awesome on my black granite counter top and go nicely with my dark cherry wood cabinets. Definitely recommend.

returned Very pretty. However, the lids do not seal at all, making them unsuitable for food storage in my home. I kept them for a few days, wondering if there was some way to retrofit the lids and make them seal. I decided kitchen canister should seal without a whole lot of work on the consumer's part.

Beautiful canister I ordered these canisters back in 2010 at the recommendation of my "stager" when putting my house on the market. Sold the house in two days - and I still use these lovely canisters. I ordered them because the were well priced - I just needed something inexpensive to make my old kitchen look better - I still use them and they still make my kitchen look great. I keep dog treats in one of them - so now whenever I go for a tea bag in one of the others - my dogs ears perk up! Overall a timeless, classes bit of kitchen decor.

the canisters are beautiful and I have no problems with them. they seal tight...I don't see a way to take off some kind of covering to allow them to patina. they are beautiful the way they are.

The canisters are not solid copper, but a thin layer of copper on the outside. They are very nice, seal tight, and worth the money. However, to answer the question, I do not believe that you can remove the material from the outside of the copper to help them patina.

According to the distributor, over time all solid copper and décor copper will tarnish. They do have a lacquer on them but once the product hits the air it will start to tarnish. You can take the lacquer off with a lacquer remover then follow up with a copper cleaner. They are available in all hardware stores. Please feel free to contact us again with any further questions.
