This rug has a smooth silky feel under foot and a medium pile. The texture creates visual appeal and at times it has a very slight suggestion of shine but it is so minimal that you barely notice it. It's the second rug of the same pattern in different colors I bought. It's definitely a fave. Depending on the direction you look at it, you either see the pattern or you see the striped texture. Truly helps sets the foundation for a beautiful room.
