I didn't read the instructions carefully enough...it would have been helpful if parts came packaged separately and organized/labelled by step number. The little round receptacles the pins lock into come in two virtually identical sizes. Doesn't make much of a difference until you get to the last step (putting drawers together). Then, I had to dismantle the whole thing to retrieve the correct parts. Other than that hiccup...everything lined up perfectly, it is quite sturdy, drawers glide smoothly, and the finish was perfect.
The nightstand arrived in a timely rate of time. When I opened the box and pulled out the instructions I was very disappointed. All pictures and no text to reference when a drawing might seem confusing. Having now put together my share fare of furniture, I took a decent amount of time to study the pictures. Even then, I made one small mistake, but one that was easily corrected. Beside the problems with the vague instructions I was also troubled by the material. A very cheap particle board with very cheap material covering it. I made the mistake of leaving a glass of water on the nightstand one day. The condensation from the glass dripped onto the nightstand's top, causing it to bubble . I removed it immediately after noticing it, but now I have placed coaster at the same spot to prevent it from happening again and to cover the ruined area. Despite these infractions, the design of the nightstand is very sturdy. The drawers are well designed, and I have had no problem with them sliding in or out, or problems with the inside of the drawer giving out. (A problem I ran into often with Prepac furniture). So, this flawed nightstand is reflective of is afford-ability. But after moving past the headache of putting it together and the cheap material it's made of, it still looks nice and again, the drawers are great!
