Just put mine together today and I am very impressed with the quality. It is heavy and is very sturdy. It looks exactly like is does in the pictures. I am in love with this nightstand and it is exactly what I was hoping for. I am a Mid-Century Modern nut and this was perfect. I do have to say, I went back and forth between 4 and 5 stars because you have to completely assemble it (and I mean completely). I purchased 2 of them, with the first one taking a little over 2 hours to assemble (that was with many distractions) and I timed myself on the second one, because I felt comfortable enough to know what I was doing and it took an hour and a half. That being said, ALL of it was done using ONLY a Philips-Head screwdriver and the instructions were easy to follow, all parts labeled, and all hardware in their own labeled bags (with extras). I have the matching 8-drawer Dresser on it's way which I am super excited about. Highly recommend if you don't mind assembly.
I bought these 2 night tables hoping they would be more of a silver color. They are actually more gold than silver but it's ok, it goes with my decor. I really like the mirror accent on the one drawer, it adds a touch of glam. I live in Canada and it took 8 days to receive them. My only complaints are that no tracking numbers were provided - I had to chat with multiple live agents to get a status update on the order. Also, one of the boxes was damaged upon receipt as was the back panel of the one night table which was rather disappointing.
I am pleased with the assembly and sturdiness, however, the white pieces are rough in places and the legs are scratched. A better paint job that covers well is definitely needed. Also bought the matching 8 drawer dresser, have not opened yet.
But, I'd add a disclaimer - several of the instructions make it difficult to put this item together. I'd suggest adding the inside brackets to the sides of the units before assembly. Further, those little screws for the track runners won't work as the holes provided are way too small. I instead used the long brass screws to insure they'd stay put. That made me have to come up with an additional 8 wood screws for the drawer units - no biggie there. Oh, and don't put the facing on until last and be sure the dowels are on the facing and not the unit. You're going to have a booger of a time making the facing match up unless you do that. Me, I needed a break or two after following the directions and having to take the whole thing apart because they have the slides upside down and the drawers cannot fit that way -- the slides go on the bottom and not on the top as the directions say. Save yourself the grief and read ALL of the instructions before hand and figure it out the way I didn't. But, once done, it's exactly what I wanted as my chess table. Especially with the drawers for cards, dominoes, dice and scorecards. Great item. Cruddy Instructions.
