Awesome night stand, especially for the price! The detail on the front of the drawers looks great. And, the acrylic legs add a bit of class and interest. I regretted buying this piece after it shipped; I thought I'll just return it unopened. Am absolutely going to keep this little chest. It is quite heavy and NO contact paper look on any of the pieces. It appears to be painted MDF, nice A few things to keep in mind if you're going to assemble yourself. Get a good Philips head screwdriver, you'll strip the screw heads or the tip of the screwdriver or both with a cheap one. There are two Allen wrenches included. Look at the head of the screw before installing so you are using the correct tool. Lastly, as the directions show, don't use power tools. If you do you will almost certainly over torque and ruin the pilot holes. It takes about 1.5 hours to assemble and the order in which the directions show you how to put it together could be better. However, all pieces and hardware are clearly labeled, so it is easy to follow the directions/images. A word of caution, when you screw the glides on the inside of the cabinet, be sure they are on the correct side. I recommend installing one set of the gliders on the lower part of the sides and assembling one drawer, then see if the drawer goes into the glider. I mistakenly put the gliders on the wrong sides and it took me an extra 40 minutes to remove them and reinstall, grrr! Also, the small screws that hold the gliders in place must be flush, not the least bit protruding, otherwise the drawers catch going into the cabinet and you won't be able to pull them back out. I found the drawers to be fairly well aligned. However I did jimmy the glider screws on the sides of the chest, there is a bit of play and this allowed me to square up the drawers relative to each other as well as the sides and top. The legs screw in super easy. The drawer pulls actually look good-they are plastic but no need to change them out at this point. Finally, I am moving in the next six months so I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a few pieces for my bedroom right now. I got this nightstand for about $*. I feel a bit like I stole it! Hope all this is helpful.
