these are cute, but don't work super well and practically take up more space than my other tongs which have a closing mechanism. I ended up just putting them away with my salad bowls vs. what I intended to get them for which was cooking to not scratch pans with metal tongs. I'd recommend getting silicon tipped metal ones that can close instead
