Chairs are too heavy for my elderly mother to push in to the table after sitting down, will have to add gliders. Once put together they are solid. The wood was cut by the manufacturer in such a way as to make it split easily. When my woodworker-handyman stepfather was putting them together, he was not happy with some of the pieces and the way they fit, so he had to modify them to make them fit correctly. The box they came in weighed too much for him to lift into the house, so he had to open the box and bring everything in bit by bit. One box per chair would have been helpful. He plans on painting the chairs so the glued-together pieces of wood don't look so crappy.

The chairs are very sturdy and well build. The color is true to the photo. The only small complaints I have is the packing job and the finish of the chairs. When the manufacturers wrap the chair cushion in plastic they do so where it takes 5 to 10 minutes to get it off. My husband just decided to unscrew the buttom of the cushion to get the plastic off. This is actually a time saver. The finish on the chairs looks a little plastic like but it really is solid wood. Over all I am very happy with the chairs, especially given the price.

Quirky construction and one flaw in the construction. Was able to compensate as it was on an arm connection.
