NO BOX SPRING REQUIRED: With 22 superior metal slats, our Adam bunk bed is ready to support mattresses without box springs. For safety, use only mattresses that are 74"-75" long and 37.5"-38.5" wide for the upper bunk and 74"-75" long and 53-54" wide for the lower bunk. Ensure mattress thickness does not exceed 6". The top of the mattress must be at least 5" (127mm) below the upper rim of the guardrails. For comfort, we suggest a minimum mattress thickness of 4".
