This "pad" is not 1/4 to 1/5 inch thick as the description says. It's barely 1/8 inch. So if you want a pad this isn't it. I have not tested the moisture barrier feature so I can't comment on that
I ordered 3 of these in different sizes. The first one that I opened was good, true to size, a little extra long but was easy to cut off the extra. The smallest one was folded with the waterproof sides together which were really stuck together and proceeded to pull off some stretches of the waterproof backing as I tried to open it up. One corner is really stuck and I can't pry it apart. Very disappointed in that one. I have not opened the largest size (12 X 15) as I am afraid the same thing will happen and I don't have the new larger rug yet to place over it.
It was easy to cut the pad to fit our carpet. The padding was a little thinner than I expected but it does provide some cushioning over our wood floor. We've used the pad for about 8 months now and haven't experienced any slipping or sliding of our carpet over the wood floor. We haven't had any pet accidents or spills yet so I can't speak to how well it might protect a wood floor from spills.
The Mohawk Home Pet Friendly Rug Pad Spill Proof Reversible carpet liner. The rug pad is great. It's perfect under my rug and it is holding up fantastic. It holds my rug in place on my carpet, no slipping!! My cat peed on my rug and there was absolutely no leaking to my carpet underneath. I am very pleased with my purchase. I would highly recommend.
Excellent rug pad! well packaged, does it's job beautifuly, easy to trim to size and not too heavy to maneuver- would buy again and recommend!
I used this liner under my cat's litter box rug and for use with our new puppy. It works great! We have liners under all of the rugs in our house now. They are super absorbent, easy to cut to size, and there's enough for a replacement!
This rug pad isn't super thick, but I didn't need it to be for our purposes. It lays flat, keeps our rug from slipping and the water repellence will protect our new floors. Will be purchasing another for our playroom.
No where on the product is Mohawk mentioned. Description says rubber is next to the carpet, soft side is next to the floor. The product says the opposite. There is no soft side. what should be soft is like a very coarse sand paper. I cannot put that next to my brand new vinyl floor. I don't like the Idea of the rubber backing resting on the new floor either. I needed it right away and I threw the packing in the garbage, I can't pull it back out. I'm going to need to put another pad under this one to protect my floor. Don't waste your money the product is not as it is advertised. I have been very happy with BBB in the past but any future purchases I will save all packaging and will not make a mistake like this again. As I said, if I did not REALLY need the product I would have driven 20 miles to the nearest store and dropped this on their return desk without packaging. I'm usually a nice person so please know it has been hard for me to write this review. It is absolutely not as advertised.
I got this pad to put under a runner. It made it thicker and softer. The runner does not slide all over and stays in place. I purchased another for an area rug. I spilled a lot of water on it and it did not soak through to my floor.
A carpet pad makes a huge difference under a rug. This one is great if you have animals or spill drinks often. It has a nice grippy texture on the bottom side so it stays in place well without moving around.
