We really like this bed setup. It took a while to put together and we did experience some very minor chipping of the boards but considering the price it's a great value for what you get. Very solid and has stood up to 2 boys roughhousing on it well.
This bunk bed was a really good buy. Took about 4 hours to put together but is sturdy and looks great. I thought it was important to buy a bunk bed set that had a ladder with slats to step onto and not a bar because I remembered once coming down on a round bar once and it hurt my feet. Also the ladder goes up to a cut out in the top rail which makes it easier to climb into the top bunk. Some of the other styles looked dangerous to have to climb over a full rail at the top. This bunk bed is exactly what I wanted. It also looks like I can put drawers underneath. I took the advice of another shopper and bought 8" gel memory foam mattresses. looks comfy. no one used it yet.
