Really wanted to love, but poor craftsmanship

Really wanted to love these chairs! They look exactly as pictured, are a good size, and comfortable. I loved everything about the look of these chairs, but assembly is where my concerned started. I bought a set of 4, and two of the four chairs backrest piece would not insert flush to where the gold accent on the back met. I was very disappointed, tried my best to gently insert it to be flush, but couldn't. This part of the assembly is the hit or miss and the factor for the low start rating. It is a short bulb that connects the back rest to the chair, and two screws that seemingly serve little purpose. This bulb goes about a couple of inches into the chair (if you can get it to fit all the way), and then two tiny tiny threaded screws get screwed into to touch the bulb insert of the backrest, they do not screw through the bulb for stabilization. So that was worrisome for how strong it would be, and some screws would not screw in all the way, leaving a rough scratchy exposed ended of the screw. So after assembling the chairs, I had two chairs with the cosmetic issue of not being flush. Wasn't too much of a big deal for me until just a few days later when I went to sit in one of the chairs and leaned back, the back of a DIFFERENT chair just broke right off. Now I was bummed because I had my doubts about the strength as I assembled it, but gave the benefit of the doubt, but now I know the chairs that couldn't even get the backrest inserted in all the way of definitely won't be able to hold up if the ones assembled better couldn't. As much I would love these chairs based on how they look, the backrest connection design is majorly flawed. Wish I could get a replacement chair!
