This is the second one that I have purchased and this one I am sending as a gift! Is there any higher rating that that? I use mine at least ones a week!
I've been meaning to replace my old jumbo muffin pans for years...finally remembered. But the first time I used them wasn't for muffins. I had made one meatloaf to serve for dinner and enough extra to make one or two to freeze...except so often defrosting a whole meatloaf just for me to way too much. These muffin pans had just arrived, I brought two, and so I decided to use THEM to make individual meatloaf portions to freeze. Now, like many, I use ketchup on top so that the top gets nice and caramelized...a delicious but really sticky mess to clean up. When these were done and cooled I stuck each pan in the freezer and when totally frozen through I popped each one out and freezer-bagged them individually. I had the hot water, no stop just the hot water, running over the first pan while I did the same to the ones in the second pan...BUT... by the time I turned around to put the second one in the sink to soak as well (at most 90 seconds later) the first pan was COMPLETELY CLEAN of all the sticky, gooey, delicious REALLY BURNT ON topping that had bubbled over!! GONE!! POOF!! I know it's hard to imagine getting excited about non-stick muffin tins, but, lemme tell ya, THESE ARE AMAZING!! I'm going back for more as these make the perfect portion size for one, the possibilities are endless. NOW...on to muffins HA!! And plus...while the tops were burnt/caramelized just right...the bottoms of each individual meatloaf were perfect, evenly cooked and no at all burnt. I couldn't be happier...ABOUT MUFFIN TINS?!? Unbelievable, but true. LOL!!!!!!
I baked cookies on these the other day. The larger one was fine but the smaller one totally burned the bottoms. I had them in there the same amount of time and even though the tops of the cookies were golden brown, the bottoms were black and had to be thrown away. One or both of them also smelled like something was burning when I first put them in so it wasn't the cookies; they hadn't had time to burn yet. Maybe it was some weird phenomenon that happened the first time. I'll give them one more chance and if they do it again, I'm going to ask for my money back.
