Instructions are primarily pictures. If you have done cam lock and dowel construction before, you should have no issue. They do not include enough glue, so if you intend to glue your dowels, have a bottle of Elmer's Glue on hand. Also I'm worried about the recommendation of retightening every 6 months ... the covers for the cam locks are stickers that look like the wood grain. How will you replace those, if you remove to tighten? But that aside, I'm a 61 year old female who assembled this, on my own ... with a few bruises from all the hardware installation, as they suggest not using a power tool ... one puncture wound in the arm where a cam lock dropped into the arm ... but hey ... it looks great, and I have a second one to assemble ... and then my entry display will be ready for my treasures.
Overall, I'm very happy with this cabinet. All of the hardware and pieces were labeled, the directions were clear and very easy to read, and extra hardware was included even though we didn't need it. The furniture arrived with one piece damaged, however overstock was able to send us a replacement piece quickly despite the holiday weekend. It took my husband and I about an hour put together and went together as easily as any flat packed piece from Ikea. The finish on all of the pieces is in good shape and the final product is very heavy and sturdy. It was also very easy to anchor to the wall.
