i really love this piece overall, and it is exactly what i needed for the tiny space next to my fireplace. it is going to house all our electronics and dvds. however, it has issues. for the price, i expected slightly higher quality. it is mostly fine, but once put together i had to caulk all the seams including pieces that came together so they should be perfect. some areas might have been my fault when putting it together, but the pieces that came attached? come on.. that's ridiculous. the drawer is also a bit wonky, we put it together and it slid perfectly but sat funny, so for it to sit perfectly it doesn't slide in smoothly - it catches right at the end and you have to lift it up a bit. not a big deal as i doubt we will be using the drawer all that much, but still. kind of annoying. putting it together was a bit cumbersome, took about an hour with myself and my husband. the cam lock things didn't fit perfectly and you have to kind of bash them in. the drawer was missing a few holes that the diagram says are there, but no biggie, they screwed in okay. sounds like i hate it, but i don't. i love it. definitely worth it. gorgeous piece once you get it together and the caulking made it look perfect.
This display shelf is perfect for a corner of the massage studio which needed a place for a clock, a lamp, and a diffuser, plus a lower shelf basket with massage brushes. It could not be laden with books, but is perfect for display.
I've had this for 18 months now and really do love this! The wood is deep risk espresso. The glass pieces are clear with that vintage *almost but not quite aqua* tint. The hardware is a nice brushed stainless look. Have used it in a bathroom, a bedroom, and the hallway between bedroom and bath. Narrow enough to fit where dressers won't fit. Love the various depth drawers. LOTS of storage space here! When I looked at the very involved assembly instruction, I was scared and had my nephew over to assemble it. It took him quite a while as he was concerned about getting parts mixed up. To remain organized with assembly, he laid out everything in the dining room where there was lots of space. Note: follow instruction to lay the wood pieces on the cardboard packaging to prevent scratching. The photo almost makes it appear that this is sitting on a silver metal base and legs but that is silver painted wood. It's been quite sturdy and survived 3 moves now but if you've going to frequently move it about, I suggest adding those little glider feet you can buy at any hardware store. Otherwise the feet drag and that feels less sturdy.
Overall it is a nice bookshelf, but the color of the metal and the wood is totally not what I was expecting. The metal is a brushed nickel/silver and the wood is definitely lighter/cherry-like. We'll make it work but I was a little disappointed.
