Marcel Brown Leather Accent Chair - Black

These are great looking chairs. No assembly required. The seat portion is a bit stiffer than I was expecting, little flex, almost like sitting on a board. While not uncomfortable, they are not the most comfortable either (not a chair you are likely to curl up and read a book in). The plastic feet on the bottom have a tendancy to get turned around when the chairs are moved on carpeting or a rug, but on a hard wood floor the chairs will slide fine. On a hard wood floor, there the flat feet provide sufficient surface area to attach a self adhesive felt pad for protecting your floor. The chairs are very handsome. In my case, they work particularly well versus a heavier/solid chair as I can position them in front of the fireplace and due to their open design, they don't feel like they consume as much space or obstruct the view of what is behind them (ie. they don't make it feel like they are closing off the room behind them). I can highly recommend these chairs, there are no issues with quality. While they don't look like a $2,500 chair, they don't look particularly cheap either. Due to their design, there is definately a somewhat contemporary or modern look to them. The brown is very dark/deep and as a result could upon far inspection pass for either black or brown, depending on the lighting or what else is in the room. Very easy to match into existing colors in a room!

After reading some reviews of this reproduction, I decided to give it a try and just bought one as a test. After I put it in my living room, saw it and sat in it, I immediately ordered another one. They are surprisingly comfortable, and have a sleek modern style. I’m extremely happy with them.

This chair is definitely in a league of its own. At first glimpse, the chair looks extremely futuristic. I didn't think the chair was sturdy by looking at the pictures, but boy was I completely wrong. The chair may not look like it, but it's made of dark brown bonded leather. I'm not a small guy and I was able to sit comfortably in this chair for an extended period of time. I got my chair in 4 days. No assembly is required. I was surprised at how well the chair blended with my living room furniture. I definitely recommend this chair.

When I told my girlfriend, who is an architecture student, that I was finally thinking of replacing a pair of old, ratty chairs in my living room (which she has been trying to get me to do for forever), she said that she would BREAK UP WITH ME IF I DIDN’T get a pair of these! Apparenly, they’re designed by some famous dude from Bulgaria or somewhere and it’s even in some museum in New York. I said whatever and got them. Well call me a fan of “modernist design,” these chairs rock the comfort and coolness factor! I LOVE THEM!

For many years, I have coveted the world-famous Wassily Chair, also known as the Model B3 chair, which was designed by Marcel Breuer in 1925-1926 while he was the head of the cabinet-making workshop at the Bauhaus, in Dessau, Germany. The Thonet produced version of the chair is most rare, and went out of production during World War II. But when I saw this repro on Overstock for such a low price, I jumped at the chance to own this modern classic. It is just like the real thing -- totally cool.

I purchased this modern classic to finish my living room in my city apartment. It’s not the most comfortable chair in the world but I love the look!

This chair will give any room a mid-century chic. I love mine and have it for more than 8 years.
