Returned this. I have this same rug in the 5x8 size and loved it but when this one arrived it was much more tiger striped than solid charcoal. The white stripes mixed in with the dark grey are not true to what's shown in the photo.

At first I wasn't sure if this rug was a true charcoal gray, but I laid it out for a few days and it is true color. of course it changes in light, but I am pleased with the color. The thickness is perfect. Very happy with purchase

Pros: The best thing about this rug is the price and overall aesthetic — all wool at under ***. The charcoal version is a warm gray with lateral striations to give it a heathered tone. the striations are not so distinct as to make it looked striped, however and the rug is smooth to the touch — no texture. It has a very modern, minimal, sophisticated feel to it. Cons: However, something not noted in the description is the "flimsy" feel of the rug when it sits on the floor and it's worthy of commentary. The rug has no real backing or substrate, so it shifts/stretches in every direction... like a sweatshirt on the floor. Most rugs of this style/size have either a latex backing which keeps things in line or are woven on a heavy gauge matt of some sort for dimensional stability. perhaps with a rug pad, it might improve, but i'm tempted to find roll-on latex to apply to the back — it's that bad. The rug also sheds like crazy and oddly pulls with ease — we've had to clip back a few pulls after just a few days... not hard, but concerning for long-term use. I'd be wary of this rug holding up to years of use and rug-doctor-style cleaning would be a risk. It's beautiful, however.

This rug is exactly what I wanted. There is some variation in color, which keeps the rug from being boring. It added just the right depth to the room. The color is really a true grey which casts a hint of navy blue in the sunlight. I am very happy with it.
