The first few photos are wrong- look at the last 2 and you will see that the finish is highly distressed. And the distress marks are realllly fake looking. It is sturdy though and once you get over the fact that it is highly distressed it looks pretty good.
Nice coffee table. We needed one that was a bit more narrow than our old one to fit our new home....this fit the bill great! Free shipping, received in a reasonable amount of time. Decent quality, not super heavy and not super light...Nicely packed, easy and quickly put together; light to medium dirty/distressed brown in color. I'd rate it a strong 4+ out of 5. Obviously not a show-piece-- but decent quality for price. I mixed some woodwise pre-finish filler together (red oak tone and a bit of walnut tone) and filled the screw holes that are on the trim piece that surrounds the table too. Distressed effect on top facing wood...bottom of table is unstained, but easy enough to seal. Patina/finish is not super heavy, so I imagine it would take stain well if you wanted it darker, or, perhaps, to do paint and knock down reclaimed effect as is popular. I love this table. The base is heavy duty and the distressed wood finish is gorgeous! I love that it has an adjustable height. It makes it easy to work on projects from the couch.
