This chair is very attractive and also sturdy. The back is low, but is perfect to use as a kitchen/dining table. The base was already assembled. I merely had to attach the back and seat together, and then bolt it to the base.
If you like the modern touch and prefer furniture that is light and easily moved for cleaning floors and rearranging seating space, this chair is for you. My master suite is huge and incorporates a research library at one end and a reading nook at the other. I have completely refurnished it with Overstock. I have two giant wooly friends who hang in the bedroom most of the night, and this is perfect for a room that needs the floors swept daily. It also has metal legs they cannot chew when they revert to puppy behavior.
The chairs are beautiful! They are surprisingly comfortable and look very snazzy in my mid-century modern living room. They were very, very easy to put together - it literally took me 3 minutes per chair to screw in the legs and I was done. The fabric is a soft tweedy material that is nice to touch and gives it a bit of texture. The only draw back is that the actual color is much more vibrant that the website photo makes it out to be. The photo makes it seem more dark teal and in reality it is a bright, vibrant blue. The name Peacock Blue is very apt. It's a beautiful color but a bit "more" color than I was expecting. I'm trying to get used to them. It will certainly give your room a pop of color! :-)
This is a nice chair for the price. Once I added a couple of pillows to pad it out it's comfortable. The chair is beige(thank goodness) not white as some reviews have stated. The chair has to be assembled it took the 2 of us about 25 minutes from start to finish.
The Chair sits inside the entry area of my home, the perfect size and color that matched the decor'; a quiet beige rather than cream. I did not find the chair complicated to assemble and all pieces were included.. I appreciate Ink+Ivy sleek style furniture. I highly recommend.
I bought this chair for the midcentury style. I ordered it in oatmeal which is a brown tweedy fabric and is soft and smooth. The chair is large so you need to plan on enough room for it. The seat is wide and you can curl up in it with plenty of room. The back is firm so I added some soft down pillows for just a little more comfort. I ordered them on Monday and they were here on Friday. You have to screw on the legs which can be tricky as they splay out and I had to move the legs around to get some of them to position correctly and I wasn't sure if they should point to the side or to the corner. Ended up pointing to the side and making sure they were as tight as possible to get them in that position and that worked best for these legs. They probably should point to the corner? The come with a rubber spacer to help tighten them and level them and that helped. Found them on several other sites but Overstock had the best pricing and color that worked for me. Overstock offers them in some colors at a two for price that saved a lot of money. When I ordered them on Monday Overstock didn't have the Oatmeal at the two for price, but on Friday that changed and the color was added at the two for price. I called customer service and they worked it out so I got them at the lower price. Note: Pricing has changed on the two for so if you want these chairs watch for the discounted price. The dimensions are off in the description. The correct dimensions are 40 wide 33 deep 32.5 high. The seat is 27.5 wide 24.5 deep. Love my chairs.
I love the look of this chair, and although the wooden components were not very well-packed, they arrived in good condition. In all other aspects, I agree with CANUCK2012's assessment. I would like to add that the chair has a big black zipper climbing up the entire back, so if you are planning for mid-room placement, this is not the chair for you. I bought the light green, and I have a purple on the way. Live the color choices, and since they will be used only occasionally for company, they suit our purposes, and they ARE lovely looking.
I knew building these was not going to be easy, based on most of the reviews but that inconvenience was a small price to pay for the great price we paid. These chairs (we bought two in Klein sea) are beautiful. They look expensive, and are really sturdy. We 're very happy and totally recommend them.
These are a great design but what keeps them from being 5 stars is the turquoise color. It's just a little too bright and the material looks a little bit fake. They're still a good value for the money but if I bought them again the turquoise fabric would not be my first choice. The styling of the chair is so cool and it doesn't need a bright color to still make an impact.
The picture really does not do them justice. Everyone who has come by the house is really impressed by them and wants to know where I got them. They are really beautiful and comfortable. The shipper really needs to be more careful though, because one of the boxes really was banged up and one of my chairs had a deep scratch on the leg. I repaired the leg myself.
A little tricky getting it together, but I am 73 with osteo and rheumatoid arthritis, so I just took my time and got the job done. I love it ....it is in my reading nook and I get a lot of compliments on it.
I swore I'd never buy a recliner! But, I wanted something to elevate my aching feet and an ottoman would take up more space in my small living room. Then I saw this chair and it's a perfect complement to my mid-century modern sofa. I purchased the dark gray which seems a bit darker than the photo, but I am OK with that. Being just 5'1", the seat is deep for me in a regular sitting position, but fine once I recline and the footrest is up, so I use a pillow at my back if I'm not reclining. This is a firm chair, but not uncomfortable, and it may soften up a bit with more use.
Got this because it looked like pet friendly furniture and it is. I dont know if the cover is labeled as washable but I washed it with no issues. The foam is firm and it's a little noisy when it rubs on the wood while sitting on it but overall these chairs were a fantastic value and look great.
We put this chair in our baby's nursery. It is attractive and very comfortable to sit in, but purchasers should be aware that the chair is short so could be difficult for some to get out of. Also the armrests are very low- we remedied this with a pillow for extra arm support when needed.
My wife wanted a modern rocking chair for the nursery. We looked around a lot and could not come close to finding the bargain we did with this chair. It's a great size. I'm 6'5" and sit comfortably. Glad we grabbed this while it was in stock. Great natural color. Great design. Easy to assemble.
The chair is what I wanted. It was larger than I thought it would be but a good size, it may need a pillow on the back for shorter people. The Charcoal color is on the blue side which is also what I wanted. The texture of the material is great. It shipped well, it came in good condition. We had no trouble assembling it. It seems like it will hold up well. Love the look with the rest of my furniture.
I purchased this chair for my daughters room. She was absolutely thrilled with it. The chair was delivered in a timely manner with no dings or dents, was very easy to assemble. Just attach legs, stand back and admire.
This is not my first purchase from Overstock. Have been pleased with each one and would not hesitate to recommend this chair .
Buckle up for a thorough review.
First up, assembly: Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Assembled two chairs in about 15 minutes by myself, and I'm 8 months pregnant so that tells you how easy it is. Each leg comes with two screws and one chair was missing a screw, the screw package had come undone during shipping and the screws were just loose in the box. Lucky I only lost one actually. So I just put the one in and it's still completely sturdy.
Construction: It's plenty solid. It's only been two or three weeks that I've had them, but I don't anticipate a problem there. One reviewer mentioned that the back isn't smooth and rounded, I too found this a tiny bit annoying. What's happening is the frame of the chair isn't padded enough I suppose, and so it pokes through a bit, and isn't completely rounded. No biggy for me because the chairs are against the wall, but something to be aware of. When people say it's "firm" what that means specifically is that there isn't any springs or webbing in the seat construction, rather just a solid wood base. So the cushion itself is plenty soft, but when you initially "plop" down there is zero give, hence people call it "firm" or "hard". For me the initial sit was a bit disappointing, but that being said, once you're down it's plenty comfortable. I prefer it without a pillow because it's a bit shallow for a big back pillow, but I really am happy with the comfort. It's more like a padded hard chair, so think like a eames womb chair or something. Not sink in comfy (again, no springs or webbing), but still comfy.
Size: I love the size of these chairs. They are really perfect for a smaller space without being super tiny. The back is lower for a taller person (my husband is 6'2"), but he still likes sitting in them, so it's not a big deal. Mid century furniture always have low backs, so we're used to that I guess.
Appearance: A+, they're so pretty. We got the grey, and love the textured fabric. The grey almost has a bluish tint.
Did I miss anything? Overall I'm super happy with them, and am glad I went for them. They are functional for my smaller living room, and definitely comfortable enough for hanging out and chatting. They work great with an ottoman, and overall they're a great buy!
Just received these chairs and they are great! Very easy to assemble (just attached the legs). The seat and back cushion are very plush and it's very comfortable to sit in. I love the style and the color which go well with our mid century modern styled home. I ordered the brown chairs and they looked just as they are pictured. The only minor issue I found was that the seams of the back cushion at the bottom had some loose threads, but they are not noticeable and not a deal breaker. Highly recommend this product.
This was easy to assemble and I am sitting on it as I write this and am quite comfortable. Only a little disappointed in the actual color, thought the yellow was a brighter, has a little bit of a gold tone sort of like the old harvest color appliances.
