We have a very "midcentury modern" living room. I needed another small arm chair, but genuine pieces from that era have gotten ridiculously expensive here in L.A. (Thanks, "Mad Men.") Anyway, I recovered the seat with some vintage fabric before I put the chair together (super easy to do - all you need is a staple gun), and it fits nicely with our Danish moderny, Heywood Wakefieldy decor.
I like that the seat is generously sized, but the footprint of the chair itself is not very large. The foam cushion is quite firm. At the moment it feels like something you might sit on in a waiting room, but it should soften up with some use. The upholstery is nicely stitched, and the wood finish doesn't look like a cheap veneer. I also like that the because of the see-through lattice pattern on the seat back, I can put it in the middle of the living room and not lose the open feel of the space. Calling this a "lounge chair" might be a little misleading, though. This isn't a chair for sprawling out and watching TV for 7 hours. It's a chair for sitting up in, having a glass of wine, chatting with your guests, etc.
A couple of people commented on the poor instructions for putting it together. The chair comes in 5 pieces, and 4 of them are totally self-explanatory. But with the piece that supports the seat, it's a little hard to tell which way is up. The instructions don't say, nothing is marked, the diagram is ridiculously small and hard-to-read, and the holes are drilled so that it's possible to screw it in upside-down. I had to sit there scratching my head for a few minutes before I figured it out. If you're not handy and don't have much patience, you might find it annoying that they didn't bother to apply a little sticker with an "up" arrow. But as long as you follow the cardinal rule of screw-together furniture (don't tighten the screws until you're certain it's put together properly), that shouldn't be enough of an issue to keep you from purchasing it.
Overall, a nice chair for the money, and much more practical and stylish than those armless slipper chairs that seem to be everywhere.
Got this because it looked like pet friendly furniture and it is. I dont know if the cover is labeled as washable but I washed it with no issues. The foam is firm and it's a little noisy when it rubs on the wood while sitting on it but overall these chairs were a fantastic value and look great.
We had seen the ANKARA chair like this at CRATE & BARREL for $699 and could not stomach the price.
When we ran across this chair, we were a bit skeptical. However, we purchased it and it arrived in a timely fashion.
My husband put it together quickly and we were stunned how comfortable and dramatic. Will look to the big O for
things i the future.
I bought six of these for the conference room of my office and they have worked great. The casters make it very convenient to move around, and the size is perfect for space where space s a premium. The bicast leather is easily maintained and looks very good. And the panel stitching is just the sort of detail that speaks to a certain level of craftsmanship. I agree with other reviewers that this is value-priced.
I needed a chair with arms on and this was perfect. Earler I purschased this club chair/which was jusr what I requested. I had been a patient in rehabilitation Hosp. and needed a chair which I could could easily get in&out if
I am really happy I purchased 2 of these. They are a nice addition to the family room. They add a little "funky" to the room, which makes me happy. They are really comfortable to sit on and the swivel makes them perfect for joining the conversation or turning around to watch TV. My son loves to spin on them. They are very sturdy and I think will last. They won't fool anyone into thinking they are real leather, but that's ok. For the price, I didn't expect them to be this great. If you are considering, buy them!
This is the perfect little chair. I was very worried that it wouldn't be comfortable because of how small it is, but I love it. I'm 5'7" and I can sit in it very comfortably. We have two of them with a table between them. The leather is very soft but the cushion is firm. I think they will hold their shape well and I hope we can use them for many years.
I bought this as a decorative chair for my entryway. It's perfect. It's on the petite side which is great for an entryway. It's not a super soft, comfy chair, but that's fine with me since we don't spend a ton of time sitting in it. For the price you can't beat it.
I have been dreaming about a great, modern and elegant club chair into my study, but unfortunately I cannot afford leather. I visited Overstock as I knew there I will find high quality on low price and I was right. That is how I found this amazing Elijah Dark Brown Faux Leather Modern Club Chair. The design is simple, high quality and clean giving me the chair and comfort I need in my study.
This is the first piece of furniture I've ever ordered online, and I am very happy with the whole experience. It didn't take long for delivery, the chair came in excellent condition, and the quality/look of this chair was better than I had hoped.
Bought this chair back in August and it's just as good as everyone says it is. It's sturdy, comfortable, and cleanly stitched with all straight lines. If your looking for a club chair without breaking the bank this is the one.
