Updating my initial my review. The chairs look good, but the legs are SO WOBBLY I'm constantly having to tighten them!!
I bought these chairs in the beige color, and they were true to color and really lovely. I'm overall quite happy with the purchase. Just MAKE SURE that you put the legs on CORRECTLY - you have to watch inside as you're putting the legs on to make sure that they go correctly into the holes - don't try to do this without a light the first time you do it. You have to make sure the legs go in correctly or else the chairs will be wobbly. If you buy the chairs, BE SURE that the screws go into the holes that do not have plating around them (you'll see what I mean if you purchase them). All the legs should be screwed in with their holes that have little metal plates around them facing OUTWARDS (and the non-plated holes facing INWARDS). Seriously, it makes a big difference. One of them came out wobbly until we took the legs out and re-assembled correctly and now all of them are perfect. I REALLY liked how they zipped the chair legs into the chairs, that made assembly easier. There was one screw missing which was annoying, but overall it wasn't bad once we got the hang of it. They were packaged quite nicely and they look lovely. My only other complaint is that they seem to be a BIT low - but it's also possible our table is a bit high. Either way, they work well.
This chair is very attractive and also sturdy. The back is low, but is perfect to use as a kitchen/dining table. The base was already assembled. I merely had to attach the back and seat together, and then bolt it to the base.
Bought this for a good deal. It's a great buy for a small chair. I doubt it will last long, but is easy to recline. Would be great if you could lift the legs up without reclining the back but it is what it is. I got it in taupe tweed which is a great color for my farmhouse look. If you hate overstuffed recliners and want something with a classic look- this is perfect.
The gray fabric is amazing. The legs would be a bit sturdier but overall good chair. Cushions feel good. Not too soft and not too firm. Was easily put together. Arrived on time and in great shape. Very pleased!
I brought this reclining chair to go with a sectional that I purchased from a furniture store, who did not deliver to my area. I had to rent a Uhal truck to pick it up. So 1st, let me say that I was overjoyed that I didn't have to pay for shipping in order to get this chair. Just due to that, this chair is worth buying. The chair was delivered in less than a week. It took 2 months to get the sectional from the store. THEY had to order it. The chair was delivered in one large box. UPS sat it on my door step, so it was there when I got home. It fit through my door easily. Once I opened the box, I saw 2 large pieces. I started to get nervous, but all I had to do was place the back of the chair into the metal railings on side of the seat and hand screw the legs onto the bottom. (Easy Peasy) A 10 year old could have put it together. No tools were needed. The chair sits very well. I love it and my husband loves it. He is stout and I'm an average size women, and it was sturdy enough for him and me to sit in. He claimed the chair as his. The seat was not cushy soft, but it was firm and comfortable. We had thought that it would have been either too small or too bulky, but it turned out to be perfect. It wasn't too small or too big and bulky. The material is a step above a thin polyester. It's about the thickness of the material on a good chair for the dinning room table. It should last about 3-5 years with care. The chair is wide enough to enjoy sitting in it but still narrow enough to fit in a small area. We love it so much, we are expecting another one in a few days.
This is an awesome chair! It looks even better than in the picture. It's pretty comfortable and the upholstery is reasonably nice. Not necessarily sure how the fabric will hold up over time, but nice for the price point. Everything arrived intact with the exception of a minor scratch near the bottom exterior of one leg.
A couple notes on assembly: Try to get the bolts for the front stretcher in by hand as far as you can go before using the included allen wrench. An interesting note (that I figured out after assembling the front stretcher, of course) is that the semi-rounded tip on the allen wrench can be used to tighten the bolts at a slight angle. This is invaluable in the tight quarters of assembling the front stretcher. When assembling the back panel, it helps to have someone hold it in place while you get the the bolts in place. As always, make sure you don't tighten down the all the bolts completely prior to getting everything together and snugged. The back panel looks like it doesn't want to go in properly, but once everything is tightened, it all fits just fine. When placing the seat panel make sure to only use a hand screwdriver as anything else is likely to strip out the soft wood (soft being relative, of course). I made that mistake, but it was easily remedied by substituting some longer wood screws and tightening them till snug by hand.
Overall, great buy and would definitely purchase again! This is going to look great in my new apartment.
I ordered this recliner on faith and I am not disappointed! I have had 2 back surgeries and was struggling to find a comfortable place to sit. I'm 5'7" and this recliner is a perfect size! I'm in reasonably good shape and find it easy to close the recliner. However it might be difficult for some. Seat is firm, but I like it that way. Well worth the money so far! Thanks Peter Brady! Yes I watched Brady Bunch faithfully! My generation!
The chairs are beautiful! They are surprisingly comfortable and look very snazzy in my mid-century modern living room. They were very, very easy to put together - it literally took me 3 minutes per chair to screw in the legs and I was done. The fabric is a soft tweedy material that is nice to touch and gives it a bit of texture. The only draw back is that the actual color is much more vibrant that the website photo makes it out to be. The photo makes it seem more dark teal and in reality it is a bright, vibrant blue. The name Peacock Blue is very apt. It's a beautiful color but a bit "more" color than I was expecting. I'm trying to get used to them. It will certainly give your room a pop of color! :-)
I love the look of this chair, and although the wooden components were not very well-packed, they arrived in good condition. In all other aspects, I agree with CANUCK2012's assessment. I would like to add that the chair has a big black zipper climbing up the entire back, so if you are planning for mid-room placement, this is not the chair for you. I bought the light green, and I have a purple on the way. Live the color choices, and since they will be used only occasionally for company, they suit our purposes, and they ARE lovely looking.
If you like the modern touch and prefer furniture that is light and easily moved for cleaning floors and rearranging seating space, this chair is for you. My master suite is huge and incorporates a research library at one end and a reading nook at the other. I have completely refurnished it with Overstock. I have two giant wooly friends who hang in the bedroom most of the night, and this is perfect for a room that needs the floors swept daily. It also has metal legs they cannot chew when they revert to puppy behavior.
Before purchasing this item I had noticed that some people found it difficult to assemble. The only problem I had was fixing the back to the seat, which took a couple of attempts. However once I it in the right angle, it was a breeze! Except for this issue it was easy to put together by following the instructions. The chair has three positions, all of which are comfortable.
The write up stated the the chairs were 37 inches wide. That was a strong selling point for me. While awaiting deliver y, I read some reviews and customer FAQs. In one, someone asked about the width and an Overstock Rep corrected the discrepancy. You need to do that on the site too!!! Otherwise, This is a sturdy, well constructed recliner. I bought 2 for my den. They are almost exactly what I wanted, minus the inaccurate measurement on your site.
I actually went ahead and bought one chair just to make sure that it was something that I wanted to move forward with before investing in another one. When you usually read "assembly" on a product, it worries you that it is cheap roan Ikea type product. Upon the arrival of this chair, it was everything but. The assembly was simply putting the pack of the chair on (which probably cut down shipping costs) & it was ready for use. I am 6'2'', and I fit into the chair great. The seat of the chair is actually quite deep, and when I am fully reclined it is as comfortable as any other furniture that I have in my home. It is sturdy, and the leather has a much richer look than what the price of the chair actually was.
I bought the 2nd matching chair after one week of use. I highly recommend.
I was looking for a recliner that would fit in my RV. It had to be narrow due to the slide-outs. This one fits perfectly. It is comfortable and appears well made for the price. Probably a little small for sleeping on unless your 5'2" but am 6'0" and it reclines perfect for watching TV.
Love the color of these chairs. The green is what is in the picture. Goes with the dining room set I designed perfectly. They are very comfortable to sit in. Only downfall is after trying multiple attempts to get the legs even, there is still a wobble. Even tried dropping the chair as the instructions state. Very easy to put together.
Looks high end. Sturdy to sit in and the legs were easy to install - back legs tricky on positioning, but easy to screw in once I figured it out. Color is a little more silver - grayish than picture which is showing a little more taupe-y. I hope they get more silver in because I need 3 more!!!
Great chairs. Screwed the legs on and that's it. The chairs flank a fireplace and look great. The seat is wide so that you can curl your legs in, yet not too deep allowing you to touch the ground when seated. That given they are not oversized in the arm rest and this keeps the overall footprint in the room down. The seat was firm when they arrived and already are softening with use. The back isn't a "sink into" squishy chair. The tufting on the back adds a nice bit of character.
Extreme comfort and ease of use of disabled, as well as able bodies. Was purchased for an uncle who was dealing with a terminal illness that left it almost impossible for his attendant to lift him in and out of his ordinary "favorite" loungers. Stand Assist setting made it possible to get him in and out of the chair without breaking the back of the attendant and aggravating the patient. Rest of family now using it, all ages take advantage of the comfort levels and ability to lay back and lounge, read, watch TV, or just talk with friends. Thick cushiony upholstery very soft.
The Chair sits inside the entry area of my home, the perfect size and color that matched the decor'; a quiet beige rather than cream. I did not find the chair complicated to assemble and all pieces were included.. I appreciate Ink+Ivy sleek style furniture. I highly recommend.
Love these chairs as accents. Ordered 2, packing is excellent. Arrived quickly. Takes more time to remove packing than to assemble. One bolt each chair & you are done. They sit very firm but will soften with use. Love the color, a mottled orange/rust.
It says "assembly required" but don't let that put you off! It comes in one huge box in three pieces with easy and excellent metal braces and the pieces slide right in - you can do it in two minutes. I like it! My friend just asked me where I got it because he said he liked it!
I was hell-bent on purchasing a classic "Barcelona" chair of which the genuine version runs for about $5,000. The knock-offs, depending on their quality I've seen priced anywhere from $350 to $1,500. I couldn't bring myself to buy a counterfeit chair so I looked for something similar that was classy, modern, edgy and sophisticated enough to hold its own against the inevitable comparison to the classic "Barcelona" chair. This chair is a beautiful piece or furniture that certainly looks far more expensive than what I paid. There is no attempt at using tricky verbiage to describe the material as anything other than genuine leather. It certainly feels like very soft, nicely grained and sewn well. I'm certain this is genuine leather (not bonded leather.) The tufting is symmetrical and beautiful and appears to be flawless. Again, a design feature that could have gone horribly `wrong, but in fact, impresses me very much. It was delivered well-wrapped and protected in one piece. I simply had to take it out of the box. What a treat compared to the nightmare Ikea furniture debacles. I am so pleased with my purchase and have no regrets about not getting the "Barcelona" knock-off. I highly recommend this chair.
I'd considered getting one of these chairs in college but due to space constraints in our tiny closet of a room my roommate and I agreed to get foldup chairs that could be stored when not in use. I recently remodeled my bedroom in my house and upon completion I had a corner that looked bare and overlooked a window with a great view. I did a bit of shopping and came across this chair and thought 'what the heck'. I ordered it and it shipped immediately, even with blizzards blowing it arrived much sooner than expected! Took all of 5 minutes to unpackage and set the chair up in my bedroom. It completed the look perfectly and the cushion isn't some chintzy little piece of fabric like some of them can be. It's substantial and great quality. Thick, soft and so comfortable to sit on. I can sit and read in this chair for hours. Perfect addition to any room.
I usually do not purchase something without reading many reviews first, but we were in need of a "smaller" recliner in this color with a limited price bracket. As soon as I saw that O offered this as a new item, we took the plunge. It was easy to assemble, I brought it in the house with a friend - we got it together in no time - hope hubs was impressed. :)
It is an Oatmeal color, just as described, although my screen made it look gray. It matched well with our neutral pewter couch and this delicious rug I also purchased from O: (Safavieh Handmade Moroccan Cambridge Brown Wool Rug.) The fabric is knobby and heavy duty, the nail head trim brassy and classy. While it is a tad more "poofy" looking than I was going for, I do believe it can easily be passed as a R H type chair. The one thing I do not like is that on the back where all recliners have a fabric flap, the flap on this one does not go all the way to the floor with the rest of the chair, leaving about a 5" space to easily see under the chair. Based on the placement in our home, it does bug me a lot, but if it were in a corner this would be a non issue. When I wrapped the fabric under where the velcro is, it made it even shorter, so I left it hang.
It sits quite high, I am 5.5 and my feet do not hit the floor, yet who has feet on the floor with a recliner? My 6' hubs is long waisted and the back was not quite as tall as he had hoped to hit his neck quite right. A small pillow does the job. I must say the chair was much bigger than I anticipated, even after measuring out the space. That said, it still is on a smaller scale than a typical recliner. The cushions are firm yet comfy. It reclines quite far, and stays back without having to use stomach muscles to keep it so. I guess time will tell how well it holds up, I will update my review on down the road. I hope this helps you to make an informed decision.
I am extremely happy with my purchase. I searched and read tons of reviews for Tufted Ivory Arm chairs, after several months I decided on this chair. I ordered 2 for our sitting room, they arrived in great condition. It took me about 15 minutes to assemble the legs by myself. I would recommend that if you purchase this item to use it as an occasional chair, not for everyday use. It is a true ivory color and fabric may not be able to withstand alot of stains.
I absolutely love this chair! I first purchased the large round ottoman (which I am using as a table for my sectional couch) and then purchased this matching chair. Both pieces are even more beautiful in person than pictured here. Very beachy looking which is the look I was going for in my new vacation home.
These are a great design but what keeps them from being 5 stars is the turquoise color. It's just a little too bright and the material looks a little bit fake. They're still a good value for the money but if I bought them again the turquoise fabric would not be my first choice. The styling of the chair is so cool and it doesn't need a bright color to still make an impact.
I bought this chair for the midcentury style. I ordered it in oatmeal which is a brown tweedy fabric and is soft and smooth. The chair is large so you need to plan on enough room for it. The seat is wide and you can curl up in it with plenty of room. The back is firm so I added some soft down pillows for just a little more comfort. I ordered them on Monday and they were here on Friday. You have to screw on the legs which can be tricky as they splay out and I had to move the legs around to get some of them to position correctly and I wasn't sure if they should point to the side or to the corner. Ended up pointing to the side and making sure they were as tight as possible to get them in that position and that worked best for these legs. They probably should point to the corner? The come with a rubber spacer to help tighten them and level them and that helped. Found them on several other sites but Overstock had the best pricing and color that worked for me. Overstock offers them in some colors at a two for price that saved a lot of money. When I ordered them on Monday Overstock didn't have the Oatmeal at the two for price, but on Friday that changed and the color was added at the two for price. I called customer service and they worked it out so I got them at the lower price. Note: Pricing has changed on the two for so if you want these chairs watch for the discounted price. The dimensions are off in the description. The correct dimensions are 40 wide 33 deep 32.5 high. The seat is 27.5 wide 24.5 deep. Love my chairs.
This is a nice chair for the price. Once I added a couple of pillows to pad it out it's comfortable. The chair is beige(thank goodness) not white as some reviews have stated. The chair has to be assembled it took the 2 of us about 25 minutes from start to finish.
My husband and I have been searching for the right chair to match our hazelnut colored couch. The chair that we found in a local store that was comparable to this one (just slightly bigger) was going to be over $1,000. It is hard to find a regular sized chair and ottoman since they make so many oversized/chair and a halfs now. We took a chance and ordered this although we were skeptical about the color - it seemed to have a pinkish/peach hue on the screen. The picture of just the material (middle picture) is the most accurate of all three. There is nothing pink or peach about this chair and the pictures do not depict it accurately. The primary colors are beautiful and are a rust, dark maroon, dark green, gold, tan. The quality is very good and seems well made. The back of the chair is lower than I expected, but suits us fine. My husband is a large guy and can sit comfortably in the chair. The seat is firm and kind of bouncy and is attached. I feel like you almost sit a little higher than the ottoman. Overall, this is an excellent deal and well worth the money. You cannot come close to this in any store around. Ours arrived within one week of ordering. Great purchase - go for it!
This chair has nice lines, is comfortable, and well constructed. The only thing to do is take it out of the box, screw on the legs and you're done. The fabric is nice but leans more to a blue grey than just grey.
UPDATE: Still love the chair. However, my husband sat in one and now it leans toward the front. When we looked underneath we saw that it had actually compressed under his weight. Also next to the other one It appears to be leaning down in the front. It is still useable but not quite as comfortable as it was. I would strongly advise that no one over 200 pounds sit in this chair.
I had an area in front of a bay window where I needed two small chairs. These fit the bill perfectly. The teal-ish color picks up the blue grays in the rug. The bay where they sit is not carpeted. They sit on the hardwood floor at the edge of the rug so they swivel very smoothly. THey are not expensive fine furniture. I don't expect them to last forever. The back is very low. If you are tall you may not find them comfortable for extended sitting. I am short and weigh about 150 and I find them very comfy. My husband 5'8 and nearly 300 pounds finds them very comfortable for sitting but again not for an extended period as the back is too low. Likewise our teenage son who is 5"10 says they are comfortable but eventually the low back gets to him also. The fabric feels delicious also. Assembly was so easy. Just use the enclosed allen wrench to install the swivel. I put a small table between them and we use the area for afternoon tea or chess or board games. They are NOT our primary seating for everyday. I got them more for the look. Perhaps we will replace them later with the same style in leather. For now they are absolutely perfect. Again, not fine furniture but certainly well constructed and looks more expensive than it costs.
Having my sights set on a high end recliner I realized my budget would not support it and my 25 year old recliner had to go! I had already decided on blue and saw this color so I decided to take the plunge and am glad I did. The fabric on this chair is beautiful and it is taught no sags or bags. The attached cushion is very firm which suits me well and I like that it sits higher than my old chair. I am 5'9" so the higher stance is perfect and I fit in the chair well. My feet don't hang over any farther than in my old chair and my head rests comfortably on the back. With that I think the chair is best suited for folks 5'7" to 6' tall. Not that it couldn't work but a shorter person's feet may not touch the ground when sitting and a taller person may not have a comfortable head position when reclined. The push back reclining mechanism is very smooth and allows for several comfortable positions including laying nearly flat. My only criticism is the fabric skirt in the back that moves to allow for reclining does not hang right; it has a bit of a wave in it. Not a deal breaker for me as the recliner is against a wall and I suspect that may be particular to this chair when it was made. I am calling this my 5 year recliner as I feel based upon normal use I will want to replace it as I suspect the batting in the back may begin to bunch or get lumpy at that point. I have no pets or children at home so that helps make things last. Perhaps I will be surprised! Any way this is an excellent entry level piece. Pretty, sturdy, comfortable, and inexpensive!
This chair fits perfectly in our living room. I was startled at first for how light it was but we needed a smaller sized accent chair and it works, especially for the price. On top of it all its surprisingly comfortable and perfect when you have company over to sit around and talk. I definitely recommend it!

An accent chair is any living room chair that makes a visual contribution to the room's decor. This can include all types of chairs and is more of a catch-all term to describe a chair that lends itself to a particular style. For example, a grey linen accent chair with tapered, light-colored wooden legs would bring a Mid-Century vibe to your space while a navy velvet-upholstered accent chair would help create a Coastal ambiance.
A recliner is a type of living room chair that adjusts into a reclined position typically with the pull of a lever or push of a button. Recliners are comfortable and luxurious chairs that work in a living room, but they are also popular choices for dens and home theater rooms. Leather is the go-to material for top-of-the-line recliners, but a fabric recliner in a complementary color may go better with your existing decor scheme.
An arm chair is a comfortably upholstered living room chair that has built in supports, or arms, on the sides that you can rest your arms on. An extremely common piece of living room furniture, arm chairs are great additions to an existing seating arrangement that can complement your sofa or loveseat.
A club chair is a type of arm chair known for being particularly comfortable. The design originated in France and was exclusively upholstered in leather for many years. Fabric-upholstered club chairs are now common as well, and the club chair remains a popular living room chair style that is sure to make an impact in your space.
Lounge chairs are casual living room chairs that are designed to help you relax. Some are arm chairs with partially reclined backs while others may include a footrest or ottoman to help you unwind even more. Expect lounge chairs to have a deeper seat to draw you further back in the chair. This chair type comes in a variety of materials and styles, so it's easy to find something unique that works for your room.
A wingback chair is a classic arm chair also known as an easy chair or grandfather chair. The design of this chair is a 17th-century innovation that has endured due to its timeless style. The wingback chair's name is derived from the side wings, or cheeks, that frame either side of the chair. If you are looking for an arm chair that fits well in a formal living room, the distinct look of a wingback chair may be exactly what you need.
A slipper chair is an upholstered living room chair without arms that sits fairly low to the ground compared to other chairs. This versatile and classy chair is a good fit for almost any type of living room. Its name may refer to how easy it is to "slip" in or out of this distinctly styled chair.
A chaise lounge is a comfortably upholstered chair with an extended seat that elevates the lower body. Some chaise lounges are one piece while others use an ottoman-like piece to create a near-seamless transition. Chaises can be armed, armless, or may have just one extended arm that serves as a kind of side backing. Chaise lounges make for stylish accent pieces that are perfect for taking a daytime nap or reading a book.
