This ready to hang, gallery-wrapped art piece features a beach at sunset.
Lincoln Harrison is a self-taught photographer from Bendigo, Australia, whose images focus largely on Australian seascapes and star trails. He often spends upwards of fifteen hours painstakingly creating each image, capturing hundreds of exposures of the foreground and sky separately. "I went out and shot some landscapes to use a as a desktop wallpaper for my PC and became hooked", says Harrison. Some purists have criticized Harrison for being "too colorful" but, he continues to do things his own way. Making his starry Australian landscapes look "accurate" is not as important to the photographer as it is to make it "look as good as it can."
Giclee (jee-clay) is an advanced printmaking process for creating high quality fine art reproductions. The attainable excellence that Giclee printmaking affords makes the reproduction virtually indistinguishable from the original piece. The result is wide acceptance of Giclee by galleries, museums, and private collectors. Gallery wrap is a method of stretching an artist's canvas so that the canvas wraps around the sides and is secured on a hidden, wooden frame. This method of stretching and preparing a canvas allows for a frameless presentation of the finished painting.
