My nearly 20 year old Rowenta iron recently stopped working and I replaced it with this iron. The DW8080 is even better than my old one and works wonderfully. Great steam, and fast comfortable ironing. I read reviews before purchasing, as there are so many Rowenta models. Another reviewer mentioned buying a model that is made in Germany as they have a higher quality. I followed this recommendation and hope that it will last as long as my old Rowenta.
A great iron for the price. Looks like a Rowenta. Let's face it, a human has to use is so how good can a $high price iron be if I have to push it and move the clothes too?
I read many reviews before purchasing, and like most products, this iron had mixed reviews. I like the weight, it glides smoothly, gets hot enough to get wrinkles out (which is it's entire purpose), and overall seems like a good iron. It does spit a bit but that is when it is still heating up; if you wait until it is fully heated up it is fine. I used to buy the top end Rowenta irons, but they do the same thing so I decided this is as good as any. When irons are too cheap they are light and don't have the oomph behind the steam.
This is myfourth pro ironing station. I started using them in Europe and moving to the USA ,I first only found the much more Expensive Rowenta Ironing station. It was damaged during our move. Then I found this Iron on Overstock. It's is half the price and performs the same. It reduces my ironing time into half, I can refill on the go without having to turn it of. Easy to use and a good value for the money.
