We have an antique 4 post bed in our guest room, and little grandchildren coming for Christmas. This step stool is heavy, sturdy, and well made. Features smooth hard plastic glides, so floors won't scratch. Should be very steady for anyone, young or old.
After I read the directions and began to assemble I had a horrible time trying to get the holes to line up. I cursed, I hit it with a hammer, I cursed again, I cried out in frustration. I reread the directions. No answer there. I couldn't get it into the box to send back and THEN : I figured it out ! There are pieces if plastic that are in place for shipping that require removal. IF I had know this I would not have had any issues with assembly. Not in the directions. After assembly I can say this is an AWESOME stool !
Much heavier than it looks; at 5'1 it's hard for me to carry from one closet to another, especially since it doesn't lock when in folded position (only locks when fully open). So as I'm walking it tries to fling open and hurts. The part I love though, is that it matches my wood floors and looks more luxurious than a plastic step stool.
