Item folds nicely for storage but has a locking mechanism when set up. Makes a very nice sturdy stool. Much heavier and better made than many of the decorative ones.
I finally "retired" the rickety old wood ladder that came with the house recently and I needed a replacement 6 foot ladder. I was going to purchase an orange fiberglass ladder from a box store but thought I'd look to the "O" to see what they had to offer. I had two requirements, it had to handle 300 pounds, and be light weight. After a few minutes I came across this Cosco premium ladder. I was a little apprehensive because most aluminum ladders do not feel right when using them. However it met my requirements and it was a fair price I didn't like the 3 to 4 week delivery time, but delivery was included and I didn't need the ladder immediately. Well to my surprise the ladder arrived a day after the email notification that stated it had shipped. It shipped in a heavy plastic bag and there was no physical or cosmetic damages. The first thing I noticed was how light it was, and it was designed with a carry handle on the side that also doubles as a latch to secure it from opening unexpectedly. I brought it out to my shop and set it up and tried it out. This is a sweet ladder it is built tough, it doesn't wobble and there's enough room and width on it for me to turn around to extend my reach. The ladder locks in the open position, there is a plastic (Not cheap, more a polymer) platform with the outline of a pair of shoes that indicates the highest point that the ladder will safely support you, and it does do that. I felt very comfortable on this ladder, even on the top step. Time will tell if the ladder remains this way, I will edit this report if it starts to fail in any way. one more thing, they added a paper towel holder to the end of the recessed plastic paint tray, now that is cool.
