We bought the washer and Dryer back in March. It works well, except when it comes to bed sheets and comforter covers. The dryer (whether on bulky items or not), makes a big ball of the sheets and actually does not dry anything. I have to go every 5 minutes to detangle the bed sheets and get the dryer again. Sometimes, it is just faster to hang the sheets to dry. This has been a very frustrating experience. I will never buy an LG dryer ever again!Read More
Love this washer. Great for small condos or apartments! Gets clothes clean and is super quiet.Read More
We have this dryer in a rental property. Can't just wash and dry the sheets between tenants. Two sets of sheets and a few towels and I've been sitting here for 3 hours. Second load is no where near dry. The sheets just roll up inside of themselves or each other. This is ridiculous. I feel as though I should apologize to anyone who rents this unit.Read More

I love this dryer. I've owned it for two years, and it fits perfectly (with room to spare) under my kitchen counter. (I also own the matching washer). When I purchased this set there were not many manufacturers/models that made a washer/dryer set that were front-loading and fit under my kitchen counter (the only place in my condo to put them). Initially, I was a bit put off by the price, but both units have performed flawlessly in two years time. I sort of have a love/hate relationship with the ventless feature of this dryer. I love it, because it fits in a small space, and I don't have to waste space for a vent in the rear. Additionally, the length of my vent from the dryer to the outside is almost fifty feet, so I was very happy to rid myself of this problem. I don't actually hate anything about the dryer, but I do find that it takes almost two hours to dry an average load of clothes--and that seems like forever at times. There's nothing wrong with the condenser, but you do need to remember to clean it every three months to keep your dryer running at its best. Not as "mindless" as a vented unit. I once left some partially dried clothes in the dryer for a couple of days and panicked when I couldn't get the mildew smell out of the dryer. Luckily that disappeared after a few drying cycles. All in all, I love this dryer, and when I get annoyed at having to clean the condensing unit, I just remind myself of all the years I spent in laundromats! As far as convenience goes, there's just no comparison!Read More
I don't understand why people are rating this dryer at 4 stars when it takes them 2 hours to dry one load. This dryer cannot dry an entire load, we have had to break our washing loads into very small batches and even then it takes forever to dry. 3 hours to dry 3 towels, 1.5 hours to dry 1 fitted sheet and 2 pillow cases (not even the entire sheet set)... it's ridiculous!Read More
Just love this dryer. Plays a cute tune when it is finished drying. Clothes smell really good and are fluffy, and I didn't even use fabric softener. (Does take longer to dry than a regular dryer). I've owned other brands, but this LG is my favorite.Read More
I like the size and features, but it does take a long time to dry clothes and I have the hose to drain the water. I would like to see the temperature settings available on all cycles instead of preset. It takes 2 hours to dry a cotton cycle that is very long. The no vent system is good stops dust from accumulating behind the dryer. I think lg should send a dvd with washer and dryer and show how to use them instead of having to read some many pages. Show tips and shortcuts.Read More
Our fabulous 18-year-old compact dryer finally failed (along with its matching washer), forcing us to shop for a new laundry pair. Initially we were hoping to find a moderately priced conventionally vented dryer but, after researching the latest models, we finally bit the bullet and sprang for this LG DLEC855W ventless condenser dryer. We’ve only had the machine for a month, so the pros and cons listed below are tentative. The dryer is stacked over its matching washer LG WM1377HW in a very small space in the kitchen next to our refrigerator. We line-dry our wash most months out of the year but, in order to determine that the dryer is working properly, we have thus far testdriven the machine with about 10 loads of all kinds of laundry. PROS: • Drying options are more than sufficient and the machine has a must-have moisture sensor. • Drying capacity is excellent and drying time is only marginally longer (if at all) than our old vented dryer. • The heat that is recycled back into the house will definitely be a welcomed addition during the winter. • We have chosen to empty the condensed water directly into the drain, but having the reservoir option will definitely come in handy as well. • The machine also comes with a drying rack (which we have yet to use) and a drum light feature, both of which may also prove handy. CONS: • Given the bulging, rounded front of the design, the machine is substantially deeper that it needs to be and that’s unfortunate. • Periodically, the dryer makes a grinding noise, presumably due to the action of the pump pushing the water to the drain (or reservoir). • Bulky items like sheets ball up almost immediately and the reverse rotation of the drum is not able to undo the problem. • A powerful, industrial smell was emitted during the initial drying tests but seems to have decreased with each subsequent load dried. My assumption is that it is a temporary problem associated with the fact that the dryer is brand new and that after a few more uses the smell will be gone completely.Read More
