Putting this thing together was a chore....and it is HEAVY! The only thing I don't like about it is the glass for the doors - the tacks they provide to hold the glass plates in place are terrible. The glass is loose in the doors and makes me a bit nervous. Otherwise, I love how it looks and it has added some great storage in our nook. I get compliments on this piece all the time as well.
Easy to assemble and really easy on my back. I use mine for laundry and bringing groceries up to my apartment. I used to make 3 trips in the elevator until I got this cart. It's strong and handles a lot of weight very well.
Note to female senior citizens like myself who don't have a lot of experience putting things together: When you put on the big wheels, make sure to BEND the last little clip you put through the rod to hold the wheels on. If you don't bend it around, it will work itself out and the wheel falls off.
Yea, you got it. I didn't bend the clip and both wheels fell off just before I got it to the car to load up. Thank God I managed to gather up all the pieces and put it back together on the spot.
For 65 years I have been learning things the hard way. Seems like that isn't going to change any time soon. (;
I've been searching for the right bar cart for more than a year because I'm very picky. I wasn't looking for a gold or chrome. I found this and thought it would be the right color to compliment the decor in my dining room. I received this item in 3 days due to free Christmas express shipping Overstock was offering. It does arrive in one large box and you have to screw on the wheels, the four legs, and the top. The tempered glass is carefully box separately and you'll have to placed it on top once you have assembled the bar. It rolls without any issue and it's big enough to place a lot of things on it. I'm glad my search is over.
My bar came nice and quickly after I ordered, it was pretty simple to put together with good instructions. Only things I don't like about it are that it smells terrible like chemicals... it stank up my whole house for a few days. Now a couple weeks later it still smells every time I open it. The other thing I don't like is the fake stone top feels rough when I run my hand over it, not at all like what a polished stone top would really feel like. I might find a piece of glass or something to go on the top. Overall I'm pretty happy with it though. It's larger than I thought it would be, and it holds plenty of liquor and wine bottles, as well as 5 rows to hang stemware from.
This shelf is supporting a heavy microwave and some pots and pans just fine. "Assembly" consisted of just unfolding it, basically, took just a couple of minutes. As a bonus, the shelves are all hinged so you can flip individual ones out of the way to make a taller space.
Cart is very easy to put together and no need of tools. The quality is very good but the dimensions were not exactly what I thought. They used the handle as part of the length so the cutting board workspace is less than I thought. Otherwise, a great product!
My cart is great. I have been using it every Friday to cart my laundry to our senior laundry room
and back to my apt. I only wish a liner was available, but I manage with a large plasic bag.
I am glad I got the large size as it works out good to do a whole weeks laundry plus hold the
detergent and softner. Thanks.
Very quick delivery. Solid wood all around. Stainless steel top is good too. All parts included and arrive without any damage. Take a long time to put together ( 4-5 hours,) Partially because there a lot of parts to assemble, but also because we used extra glues to strengthen all the joints.
Time very well spent. We are very happy with the good looking and the good quality piece.
I'd been looking at this island for a long time. We had another one that we liked a lot, but after we moved into this house, I found that it didn't fit as well in my breakfast nook. I knew I could use that little room more often if I had a narrower island in there, but I still wanted the open shelf storage. I kept this one in my Overstock cart for quite a while and finally bought it even though it didn't have any reviews. It went on sale and I had a coupon, though of course today I see that the price has been lowered again. Sigh. Anyway, I thought I'd write a review and maybe help one of my fellow shoppers.
The island arrived the other day, and my husband put it together with a minimum of fuss yesterday. I was nervous because the box looked like something had taken a bite out of it, but the island was packaged in an interior box and arrived undamaged. It is a very attractive, solid piece. Looks great in my breakfast nook. I am pretty pleased with it, and it seems to be a quality item. However, there are some inaccuracies in the description. First, the measurements are wrong. The actual measurements are (rounded to nearest quarter inch) 44 1/2" wide, 20 3/4" deep, and 35 1/2" high. The main one that is off is the width, so I wanted to point that out in case a few inches matters.
The description also states that the center shelf is adjustable. It is not adjustable: it is fixed. That was kind of a big deal to me: I kept my cookbooks on that shelf of my old island, but I couldn't stand most of them up on this shelf (I laid some on their sides, which works okay, I guess). The shelf height of both of the shelves is only 9" (and a hair), so if you have anything taller than nine inches to put on these shelves, it isn't going to fit. I used to keep a couple of my stockpots and a rice steamer on my old island, but I couldn't put them on this one (I have some wall shelves in the kitchen, so I just rearranged things). Not a big deal, but my old island was the same width and height (but much deeper, so I didn't expect that everything would fit on this smaller one), but I did think that the shelf space (height wise) would be about the same, and since the description said that the center shelf was adjustable, I wasn't too worried about it. I am using the shelves for mixing bowl sets, cookbooks, and a few pieces of shorter cookware (chili pot, two small soup pots, etc). The drawers are roomy, though not really necessary for me; I wish they were shallower to allow for more shelf space, but if you need extra drawer space, they will be useful. The interior measurements of the drawers are 16 1/2" wide x 3 1/2" tall.
Although I am disappointed that the shelf space isn't more useful--and I probably wouldn't have ordered if I'd known about the constricting shelf space--I'm not going to return it because it is still a solid, useful piece that looks great and will be plenty functional for my kitchen. I have every reason to believe that it will hold up well and continue to be practical, attractive, and useful. I am docking a star because of the description. I don't know if that came from the manufacturer or from Overstock, but there's no excuse for inaccuracies there, and I have little tolerance for mistakes in product descriptions--online customers have to rely on that information, and it ought to be correct.
I bought this to carry groceries fm car to my apartment. I also use it to carry my garbage to the dumpster. It is well built and the bigger wheels help it to go over cracks and bumps better. The wheels are a little wobbly but would definitely buy it again. It opens and closes with easr.
I was hesitant to purchase this Wine Rack after reading the reviews. I looked at similar wine racks for several months, many much more expensive that this one, but kept coming back to it. I finally decided to just go ahead and order it. I'm so glad I did. The finished cabinet looks awesome and the dimensions are perfect for the space I am using it. It was a pain to put together, but I figured it would be just based on the various storage compartments inside. For the price, I could not be happier with this purchase. It looks awesome and was a fantastic value. Don't be afraid of the reviews. If you want very top quality finishes and materials, then plan to spend several hundred more dollars and skip this one. If you like the way this looks online, then go ahead and buy it. You won't be dissapointed. Take the time to put it together and pat yourself on the back. You will have an awesome wine cabinet at a very affordable price. The finished product is very close to pictures.
When this item arrived, I was delighted with the luster of the copper and the sturdiness of all of this product's elements. However, the product description needs some fleshing out. I was unclear as to whether 4 attachment screws came with the unit or whether the chains were soldered to the base of the rack. I was told by customer service that they were-they weren't. I needed a wrench to open the S-hooks so they would go into the holes in the rack itself and then use it again to close up the connection. Nevertheless, now that it is up, it is the stunning focal point of my kitchen-beautiful and practical!
Bought this to expand our kitchen space----it looks great and very professional. We had a little trouble trying to figure out how to hang it since the studs did not match up with our wall---however, our real estate agent suggested we bolt a piece of plywood to the wall (painted the color of the wall) and then attach the rack to the plywood. You'd never even notice the wood behind it. It seems very sturdy, with lots of pots and pans hanging from it. It is a great addition to our kitchen!!
Planning a 'Welcome Neighbors' party for my new home, and needed a 'staging cart' for adult beverages and misc. Looked, looked, and looked, until this Metropolitan Industrial Metal Mobile Bar Cart appeared on Overstock's website. Wanted a practical/moveable cart that didn't look like it was just offloaded from a river barge, one that had a good degree of finesse to it. This fits the bill. Easy to assemble, and maneuver, is sturdy, and don't be fooled by the descriptive terms "Industrial" and "Metal Mobile". Lines are simple and clean, and unless your decor relies heavily on gold-guilded French Provincial, it will fit in nicely. (Gave four stars only because it has not been tested in real time at the 'neighborhood party'.)
I LUV THIS DISH TRAY!!! I renovated my home, including gutting and rebuilding my kitchen. I wanted accessories to help make the kitchen pop. This tray did just that. It complimented the countertop to eliminate the horrible look having your dish rack on the countertop normally adds. I had several family members run out and purchase this product after seeing mine.
I needed aa long thin cart to fit between my refrigerator and door after much searching this was the only one with the right dimensions, but it is also the best cart ( and I have bought several in the past ). I have had it is very sturdy , sleek clean and modern looking also very easy to assemble.
I bought this cart for my 82 year old parents because they have arthritis and are a bit unsteady on their feet. There is a wheelchair ramp that goes up to the entrance of their house. Getting their bags of groceries into their house was exhausting for them. They love it because it's large and they can fit 5 bags of groceries in it. They also love the fact that it folds flat. They even use it for taking clothes to their laundry room. The only negative thing they have reported to me is that one of the wheels is a little whobbly. Perhaps there was a problem with the assembly, or this a manufacturing problem. I don't know because I live up in the midwest and shipped it to them to their home in Florida. I'm glad I bought it for them because it really helps with their day to day tasks, and they seem pleased with it. A lot of the carts similar to this are priced lower, but after checking them out, they were smaller. This one is great because it's large.
I'm so thrilled with this cart!
I wanted a cart just for my baking stuff. This is perfect! The quality is excellent, and my daughter and I had little trouble assembling it. I chose the cart with the stainless steel top because it would match my appliances. You will never find a cart of this quality for the price anywhere.
Absolutely beautiful, and the quality is wonderful!
I purchases this set to replace a set of pots I've had for 15 years. It was a beautiful, good quality 18/10 stainless steel 15 piece set which had lost some pieces over the years. I love to cook and was attached to my pots that had served me so well. I did research and struggled with the decision for a while. I was not disappointed with my decision. I love cooking in these new pots! They feel substantial and look beautiful. The handles are screwed in, not soldered, so they won't easily crack off. Also the handles remain pretty cool while cooking (not the case with my old pots) More importantly they cook my food evenly, no burning. I also love the measuring lines inside the pots, which makes cooking more convenient. One of the pot covers also fits the frying pan which is a great feature. The steamer although compact, is deep and can fit quite a bit of vegetables. My only hesitation in buying was I needed a few more smaller pots, so I just order some more separately to supplement the set. I am so happy with my pots and have not missed my old pots one bit! I highly recommend.
This cart is much more of a table -just what I wanted. Easily assembled, it offers a lot of shelf and drawer space. The color is perfect and I absolutely love the style.
I highly recommend this cart, as well as Overstock.
Overall it is a nice trash/recycle can..
the step to open feature actually works (surprising how many of this style don't)
the soft close feature is nice
it replaces two cans one for trash and one for recycle with one slimmer designed device.
contrary to the advertisement the product is NOT fingerprint proof
the locking mechanism that is supposed to hold the lid open for removal of the inner cans is a cheap plastic tab, that doesn't always stay put thus prevents the lid from closing if it gets jarred.
the inner cans are cumbersome to insert can liners into, and putting trash into them without liners is a bad idea.
the recycle side doesn't fit much, and a lot of normal sized items have to be mashed and folded to fit. would have been better if both sides were of equal size and not offset sizes.
not really worth the very high price...
this is a wonderful product it is not like others this one screws together making it strong and sturdy a must have for storage I have all my kitchen implements on it, and it does not wiggle at all this is a work horse like you would find in a commercial kitchen a fantastic buy
This coffee maker makes really good coffee but is a pain. I will go back to a separate grinder and cuisinart coffee maker after this one dies. I wanted a grinder and coffee maker combo to make my life easier. It is difficult to clean the residue from the grinder and will jam up if not kept clean.
This works great for grinding raw chicken, bones and all, for healthy dog food. The only bones I don't put through are the thigh and leg bones. They'd probably be fine, but don't want to overtax the unit. It's fast and easy to use and to clean up. You do have to cut the chicken up into strips that will fit through the pusher-thing-hole, so get a knife sharpener too, but that is no big deal since I get 20% more food out of the same chicken and it has all the calcium and minerals a dog needs! BTW, I don't serve raw, so I'm not calling this BARF, I cook it in a crockpot after grinding with some veggies, as my dog has cancer, immune compromised, and I don't want to risk food-borne illness.
I ordered two of these grids and am pleased by the look and feel of the steel. They also screw together easily and stack nicely, with only a slightly noticeable "seam" between the two units. One thing to note, however, is that the bottle slots are not large enough to hold bottles that are not shaped in the standard 750ml shape (i. e. Champagne/Sparkling, Pinot Noir, certain dessert wines, etc.) -- the bases of those bottles are too large for the square openings. I am keeping both grids because I have plenty of bottles that DO fit, but if you're looking for units to hold a variety of shapes/sizes of bottles then I recommend you look for something else.
I had been searching for a copper pot rack hangers for a while when I came across this one. I was shocked by the low price but even more shocked when it arrived and I noted it's high quality. Excellent product.
I ordered my set after reading many reviews...some good, some not so good. After much searching for canisters I kept coming back to this set as what would look the best in my recently renovated kitchen.
Functional: Many folks complained about how hard the canister lids are to remove from their base...I have the opposite problem with the smallest, though the larger two are tight enough without presenting a challenge to open. My biggest wish is that the canisters had some sort of rubber seal, O-ring, or something similar to help keep air and the occasional pesky ant away from any stored product.
Visual: They truly are a decorative set of caniters to have, if one wants something that looks old world but not rustic and one can get past paying, on average, about 40% or more than what I would consider an average price for nice canisters.
Overall: If you like the look of the canisters in the photo and you aren't scared off by the price...and you have some arm strength for the possibility of tight lids, then you will not regret the purchase.
I bought this for my elderly mother and she loves it. My only complaint is that the directions for assembly are practically incomprehensible. It's like they were written by an illiterate non-English speaker and then translated into English. I managed to figure out how to assemble the cart by looking at the pictures and trial and error.
The grease part thats sits on the flat pan, leaves a discoloration with first use. Disappointed that it may just get worse over re-use. And the grease bits on the wires it not easy to remove in all the tiny crevices. So not thrilled with this piece.
I always burn my pots when I make chile or a large dish. these are great because you can literally throw them away for the cheap price they were. the quality is fair especially around the handles. I have used them for corn on the cob and stew and no problems yet.
This cart is stunning. The darker gold/antique color leaves it a little bit understated but then you have the mirrored glass that gives it a glamorous pop. The size is also perfect and it's very sturdy for all of my bottles. I searched for months for the perfect bar cart and this one meets all of my expectations.
