This was enormous so I had to return it. It took up half my counter space and looked like a microwave oven sitting on the counter. We like to toast cheese on bread in addition to just toast, so we thought it would be perfect for the family, however, the loud beeps to make it work were horrible and so loud. If you want a large oven and don't mind noises this might work for you as the machine looked nice and felt like it was well-made.
I read all of the reviews before deciding on this trash can and was prepared for some of the things which some reviewers complained about but have not encountered anything negative to speak of. The trash can works as advertised. I wouldn't even say that the sensor is overly sensitive. If you wave your hand in front of it, it opens, period. Our dog is a rather tall dog and there have been a few times that she's sniffed the trash can and it's opened for her but then shut just in time to freak her out and encourage her to keep her distance. :) I will say that I wish it were a bit taller but I couldn't find this exact model in a larger size (maybe didn't look hard enough). All in all, I'm completely satisfied w/this purchase.
I'm very pleased with the quality, design, and construction of the Catskill Craftsmen cart. The instructions were well written and illustrated. However, I was surprised, that it came with so many parts to put together. My husband couldn't handle it and we asked our grandson to do it-it took about 3 hours! I think it would be helpful to let the buyer know that it would take some time to put together and it wouldn't be that easy. Also, I assumed that I could use the butcher block top for cutting and preparing food. However, the instructions discourage this which is disappointing. All in all, I would recommend this product with the provisos indicated above.
Actually, laziness has a high price. A lot of people will ask - why spend the extra money for a power trash can? The simple answer is that it is more 'convenience' over function. I own 2 of these touchless trash cans. These are my recommendations: a) DO NOT get the round one. There is a analogous round trash can that is about 13 gallons as well - it also is iTouchless; but, there is a major difference. It is MUCH more difficult to get the trash bags out of the round one than the square one. The mouth on the square one is also much wider - allowing one to easily scrape off plates, etc. b) make sure to get the power adapter. I do not use batteries - but, run it off the AC adapter. This is an extra cost that you should budget. While the rechargeable batteries could be an option - I would think it is more of an annoyance than using the AC adapter; but, that is a matter of personal preference. Overall - is this something that a person 'must' have? No. It is a novelty item and a frivolous expense. However, for me, this frivolous expense is well worth it. All of us buy junk and regret making the purchase later on - I do not have any regrets with this purchase. Hope this helps.
