I got this because I wanted a low loft that was not bulky. But it is also very light weight and slides around when the kids are active on the bed. I also find the screws wiggle out regularly and need to be tightened up occasionally. The weight limit means that no adult in our house can go on top of it, but being a tall person, I can change the sheets standing on the floor. It was fairly inexpensive for a loft bed and we will only be keeping it for a couple years until the kids outgrow it anyway.
We love this Deer Blind Bed! It was super well-packed and went together without trouble -peacefully assembled by my husband and six-year-old in an afternoon. Do allow time for it, but instructions are pretty clear. I'm going to have to make a matching curtain with window for the bottom bunk as my daughter loves the bed but feels it's not fair that her big brother up top "gets all the house parts!" There is a version of this bed on overstock with colorful blue or pink curtains now, as well as the camp, but not at this price point! It was easy to find linen-cotton blend fabrics to match the bunk bed to make the curtains. We love the gently rustic finish (smooth light grey in inside, rustic finish on outside) and appreciate the non-toxic finishes. No gross smell from the product upon opening, though we did open outside and it spent a couple hours there before we had enough coffee to begin assembly...the kids LOVE this bed. So much that "pretend napping" is a new game just so they can hang out there more!
Takes a few days to fluff it up to its full sjze, but worth the wait... so popular at my house, that the kids pefer it to the traditional furniture. So happy with this purchase, I ordered 2 more!
