I absolutely love the look of this piece. It was the exact look I was going for. However, the assembly was very involved. It took at several hours to complete with two people putting it together. Two of the holes for the dowels did not line up on the top frame of the dresser, so we had to assemble it without the dowels... it did not appear to be a huge issue.
This is a beautiful dresser...the reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it can be made a bit more solid. I love the look and the price so I'll take it!
Love the look of this piece. My Husband spent approx. 6 (SIX) hours putting this piece together! We have gotten plenty of compliments on this dresser. Goes perfect in the space we purchased it for.
I disagree with other reviews saying that it isn't sturdy. it seems very solid and it looks great for the price. The drawers are actually more stable than similar dressers I've had because they have support bars going up the middle - I don't think I will have to worry about the drawers collapsing. It seems as nice, if not better, than similarly priced competition. A few negatives make it only 4 stars: there were some dings to the paint, all internal and didn't effect the appearance. Another negative is that one of my drawers doesn't close quite perfectly on the track. Also, everyone is correct when they say the directions are convoluted. One of the early steps where you attach the tracks, the pictures depict pieces that don't even exist, you just have to use your best judgment where the screws go. If you've never built your own Swedish-style furniture before then I wouldn't recommend it. If you have, then you just know how it the pieces go together and it's not really important that the instructions are so vague.
