Okay, I purchased this piece of furniture for my son's room and now that it is together it looks absolutely fantastic. Quite possibly better than the pictures give credit for. It fit in the space provided perfectly and it really was an upgrade from the junky old stand-in that I was using as a dresser. That said, I started putting this thing together at about 4pm and finally finished it about 9pm. Now, to be fair, I had to take a break to make dinner for two starving kids who were being neglected while I worked on it and my back was screaming for respite from being stooped over it. All said and done, it was a constructive way to spend a rainy day. It looks fantastic but do not believe the instructions when it says 'only 90 minutes'. In all fairness however, the pieces did go together as said.
The dresser itself isn't super fancy, but hard to beat for the price. It seems to be built predominately of real wood and feels sturdy. Installation wasn't too difficult, but some of the clips took some extra elbow grease to fully engage. The seams aren't perfect (minor gaps), but that's not noticeable if you aren't looking for it. I do wish the drawers opened a few inches further. Ultimately, I'm happy with it given what we paid, the price on Overstock being much less than at other online retailers. Getting a complete dresser in good condition was a headache though and took over a month. The first one we received contained only two unbroken pieces -- everything else was cracked, had destroyed clips, staples sticking out, etc. Overstock arranged UPS pickup of the return and shipped a replacement quickly, but it was frustrating to have to repack the original box. Dresser #2 was in much better shape, but still had some issues: the top had an uneven finish as though someone had sanded it down (Overstock sent a replacement, but it took over a week after our request to ship out) and the threads in one knob were misaligned and couldn't be attached (we bought new knobs on our own). Overstock customer service was helpful in resolving these issues, but the original damaged dresser should never have been approved for shipment.
