I have never written a review for a product before, but I wanted to counter several things I saw in negative reviews that almost kept me from buying the desk: 1) The quality is top notch for the price (under $***) and for being of Chinese origin. Seriously, who expects a fine piece of heirloom quality craftsmanship for this price?? 2) The packaging was actually very surprising in a good way. I saw several reviews commenting on damage and when I got my desks (we ordered two) there were several decent sized holes in the boxes no bigger that a golf ball and i was a little worried. However, when I opened the boxes, the amount of Styrofoam and and the way the desk was packed meant there was at least a 2 inch gap between the box and the desk. I think any damage to the desk that others have experienced is not the fault of the seller. 3) if you are mildly handy and have access to a metric socket set and a powered screw gun or power screw driver, you can put this desk together no problem. The complaints about being hard to put together are laughable. Seriously laughable. If try to put this together with the little wrench that comes with the desk, then you deserve to be frustrated and need to ask your brother-in-law for help or pay someone to put it together.
Desk not stark white and not really off white either . It is in my daughters bedroom next to her off white furniture it looks like it has a gray tint to it
After researching a bunch of hairpin desks on Overstock & *** , I finally went with this one. I specifically wanted drawer space and a desk large enough for a desktop mac and a printer. The size of this desk is perfect. It's HEAVY, so if you live in a walkup apartment (like me), get some help to carry this. My biggest peeve with this desk is the drawers. They don't fit flush all the way into the space, despite me following directions to the T. If it wasn't so *** heavy to disassemble and pack, I'd send it back and order a different one.
