I was very excited to get this bunk. I read all the reviews and most were very positive. The bed indeed is very nice, but the top bunk is too low. You would need a t 6 inch mattress for the bottom bunk in order to get enough space for your child to be comfortable and not bump his/her head. I ordered twin over full so I can sit down to tuck my three year old onto bed. To be honest, I believe the top bunk is about 1ft too close to the bottom bunk compared to a standard bunk bed. I wish it as taller.
Considering what this bed frame cost compared to traditional furniture stores we visited, I consider it an excellent value though we did have trouble installing the back panel. I joked with my husband that this is the equivalent to next level of IKEA furniture assembly. Since this bed frame was purchased for our new middle schooler, I felt like this was the right price to pay for something that looked nicer than IKEA but not break the bank. And NOTE the bed uses a twin mattress; I mistakingly thought were buying a full-size day bed (that was my fault).
I've been looking around for a ideal bunk bed, ive looked from Ikea to rooms to go to any other store i could think of to purchase a twin/full bunk bed without breaking the bank. I paid half of what I would have paid rooms to go at overstock for a twin/full bunk bed, I love it but 2 down fall the parts are not labeled so mark sure you pay attention to details on instructions but it's easy to assemble secondly the 4 joints that attached the bunks beds is not firmly tight you can hear it whenever someone is on the bed due to that I might just separate just to avoid that noise and I also dislike that there is not a full head board but oh well
