The directions lack some detail so I had to redo a couple of steps. If you aren't paying close attention to which side needs to be facing where and what holes face where, you could be back tracking. Also only open and work in one thing at a time if you also get trundle, I didn't and it got even more confusing. I wish all screws were color coded. Only one set was. Otherwise oils great and is pretty sturdy.
This set was a replacement for a cheaper bunk bed that fell apart after a short time. The stairs are integrated into the design and much safer than a ladder design. My only complaint is the drawer set under the bottom bed does not have a track to slide into. It simply sets on the floor and so does not stay in place. Overall, the bed is well made.
We purchased this bed to upgrade our daughter's bedroom. It is part of her Enchanted Forest theme. It looks beautiful, and our 5/now 6 year old daughter adores it. We bought a light pink canopy to go over it, it is very beautiful. If you go by the directions, it is quite easy to put together. Best put together by two people. A small/medium bench fits well at the foot of the bed, and looks great. The metal is holding up nicely. It seems like it will last for quite some time. It is a nice price for such a unique and charming bed. It looks more decorated than other metal carriage beds I see on the market, and will most likely go wonderfully with any enchanting theme.
