  • A decent blender
    Verified Purchase

I bought this blender after two other (more expensive) blenders each broke within 6 months. It appears to work fine so far, although the product is a bit lumpy at times. I've needed to let it run longer to get a consistent result, but when I do it performs well. I like the glass jar. I was surprised at how light the base is and how thin the plastic top feels. It gives the blender a cheap feel - particularly the flimsy top - which detracts. But so far (one month) it works great and if that continues I'm a happy camper because in the end, it just needs to work!

Nice design...overall seems to be good quality, however, I took it out of the box, set it up to use and on the very first turn of the knob counterclockwise to the pulse setting, the cheap plastic knob broke! I couldn't believe it. The knob is plastic and the connection point (C shaped with one flat side that connects to the metal speed control to the blender) cracked completely. I tried to super glue but the part was to mangled to repair. I was not happy given the cheap plastic design for such a critical part! I called Kalorik customer service and they were helpful and sent a replacement that has worked fine...although the customer service tried to blame the broken knob on shipping which is impossible singe the knob is pre-attached to the unit and deep inside the outer box and well protected. Anyway, I like the style and design and am now happy.

  • Great blender for smoothies
    Verified Purchase

One of the reviews stated the motor smelled a little hot when used extensively. I see what they said but it has not failed despite hard, daily use chopping blenderfulls of frozen fruits and ice. It's not the fanciest blender but it's simple and chic. It makes great smoothies, twice a day. We'll see how long it lasts. I wore out my last blender which despite being a top name and a larger machine than this did not make as smooth a mixture as this one does.

this blender works well making smoothies(i would stay away from "smoothie" makers as opposed to a blender - got one and it wasnt a good product). this blenders' six blades really chop the ice well in short time. the unit is easy to clean and look great on my counter.
