    • Like this Eggcellent little cooker!
      Verified Purchase

My husband and I are now in our early 60's and have never thought of purchasing one of these egg cookers. Over the years, we have loved making hard boiled eggs for healthy protein snacks and also to make varieties of egg salad. No matter which formula we have use from boiling, timing, adding vinegar, not adding vinegar, immediately submersing the hard boiled eggs in cold water, peeling right away, peeling later after refrigerating,...Oy, it's always a struggle to easily and quickly remove the shell. Often, the yolks are discolored with gray sulfur, and not very appealing or under cooked or cooked til rubbery. I chose this particular one after looking at several other options out there. The small space it takes on the counter - good. Since we are only two people, the option of cooking from a few eggs to up to 7, with a choice of soft, medium and hard (come out perfectly), and the choice to make poached eggs (up to 4) helped to decide on this one. Stainless steel dome cover looks attractive. Most importantly, I knew I wanted an "audible" buzzer to alert me when done, turn it off and to remove the eggs was not always an option on others that cost more. Without that buzzer, you could easily not notice, and you've lost your SOFT boiled egg even if it automatically turns off, you must remove from heat. Hint: when you use the little sharp pointed needle pricker on the bottom of the measuring cup, set your egg on a towel to keep steady with the wider end up. Then, don't just try to pierce your raw egg with pressure of pushing down with your hand. No. Instead, place the inverted cup on your egg end, and take your RH fingers closed together, and tap it using your fingers like a little hammer. Takes one tap to pierce and a second firmer tap to totally finish the pierce. I have had no broken eggs, that's easy to do, tap-tap, and you're ready to place pierced end up in the cooker. A purchase my husband totally approved because he'll use it and loves the end result - perfectly cooked to his pleasure, eggs. The perfect food with only 70 calories in a large egg, 6 grams of protein, and lots of good nutrients. If you want just egg whites, make up to four poached with whatever seasoning and little extras you want to add for a little spice and improved taste. Everything stores nicely inside the unit under the dome cover. So practical, easy, neat and helpful in your kitchen.

    • Efficient little cooker, love it.

This is a great egg cooker! First, I wanted something small, easy to put away or stay on one's countertop without taking up much room. This fits the bill perfectly in that department. Then on to the cooking of eggs; this little champ does a perfect job each and every time. Comes with a water measuring cup and when the eggs are finished cooking, a buzz alarm lets you know. It cooks seven eggs at a time and can cook up to four poached eggs. You simply can't beat this appliance for the price and I venture to say, even the more expensive brand couldn't do the job any better!

    • Works as advertised

Works as advertised. Easy to make eggs to the desired quality using simple steps. Did not like the whole piercing part (not hard but needs a delicate hand so you don't break the shell.)

Hard boils and poaches eggs wonderfully. Easy to follow directions that yield wonderful results. Have to tinker with water levels when poaching, though; poaching two eggs with the recommended amount of water yields a hard yolk. Otherwise, it's perfect.

    • Eggs-actly cooked!
      Verified Purchase

I bought this egg cooker because my old one (different brand, 15 years old) had a Teflon base and it had worn off in places. This one has a stainless steel base which is why I bought it. I love it! It cooks the eggs perfectly no matter whether I want hard-boiled or soft-boiled. I've used the poaching tray to make eggs for Eggs Benedict and it was great. The only problem I have with it is the big bulbous handle; I had to find a different place on my counter to keep it as it didn't fit in the small space my old one fit in because the handle sticks out too far.

    • Q:

"One of the reviews said something about piercing the eggs? The other question is whether you can adjust the length of time the cooker cooks? I own a Chef's Choice and it has a timer you can adjust depending how you like your eggs cooked."

      • A:

Hello crigger, the eggs to not need to be pierced. The cooking time cannot be adjusted. It will automatically shut off when the eggs are done. Thank you for shopping with us! A.C.

      • A:

The measuring cup for the water has a pin on the end of it which you use to pierce the eggs. If you don't pierce them one or more of them will most likely explode inside the cooker and that's a real mess! The cooking time is adjudictated by the amount of water you put into the cooker. When the water runs out the cooker shuts off automatically and the eggs are done exactly as desired. That was the way my old one (different brand) worked, too.
