Kalorik Black Heart-shaped Waffle Maker

I've had this waffle maker for about 2 months and I absolutely love it. As long as you only use 1/2 cup for each waffle, there is no mess. Easy cleaning. Some waffle mixes raise higher than others but they always cook through. I cook my waffle between 3 1/2 and 4 on the dial selector and they come out perfect. Just make sure that waffle maker is heated up good and you spray it with Pam or whatever brand you use before pouring in the batter, pour 1/2 cup of waffle mix and in3 1/2 minutes it is cooked. I don't even watch the light to tell me it is done. I use the timer on my stove to remind me when the waffle is cooked. Chocolate waffles are the best!

We used to have a Black & Decker heart shaped waffle maker that made a waffle with 4 heart shaped quarters which chirped when waffles were done. When this waffle maker burned out recently after almost 15 years of use, we ordered the Kaloric waffle maker to replace it. Waffles are smaller with 5 hearts and thinner with shallow, diamond shaped indentations, but as a result, I think you use less syrup. No beaper so you have to watch the lights to see when they are done. We are cooking at a temp setting of 5 out of a possible 6 which makes them brown and crispy. The smaller design will stand on end and fits on a shelf, using minimal space for storage. Our boys, 8 and 11, will eat a whole waffle which they didn't do before. All in all, a good value but too soon to comment on durability. Unit cleans up easily and makes a perfect waffle with just under 1/2 cup of batter. Anything more will cook over and spill to the counter, so put it on a sheet of foil for easier cleanup.

First off I just want to say that this is a Scandinavian-style waffle iron, not a Belgian one. Belgian waffles are popular in North America, and if you want thick, bready waffles then this is not the waffle iron for you. However, if you, like me, want a Scandinavian-style waffle iron (that makes thinner, denser waffles) then this is the device for you. They are hard to find in North America and importing them from Europe doesn't work due to different electricity systems, but this is the real deal with a North American plug. The different temperature settings are great and let you choose how dark/crispy you want your waffles. It takes a while to heat up, especially if you are using a higher temperature setting, but I plug mine in while I make the batter so I don't have to wait. I greased mine the first time I made waffles, but since then I have found that I don't need to grease it at all. You can make pancake mix waffles in this iron and they come out pretty fluffy, or you can find a Norwegian waffle recipe and have dense cardamom-flavoured waffles with brown cheese... yum.

This waffle maker is really handy to have around the house. It makes roughly 5 inch waffles and sometimes we use it as a panini maker. I keep it on the 4.5 setting, which seems to work the best for me because any higher and the waffles will burn and any lower and they will be uncooked in some areas. But others have had different experiences. I like that it's so easy to use because the features are simple. The waffles take about 2.5 minutes to cook and the iron heats up quickly but cools slowly. It's a little annoying to clean because of the ridges but I think that would be the case with any waffle maker. Spray butter works the best to cover all of the surface area. I've had this for 4 months and I can see little spots on the tips of the ridges where the black coating is coming off. Other than that, this is a really good item for a low price and would be best for homes where this wouldn't be used on a daily basis. Recommended to homes of 1-3 people for low to moderate use.

This is a small waffle maker. A perfect size for homemade waffles. The heart shape is unique and the kids love them.

My daughter loves this waffle maker. She always asks for heart waffles now. I am SO glad I bought it! I almost bought an ordinary one, but I thought I'd try the hearts for my 4 year old. It's a big hit! Totally easy to use, the light turns green when they're ready. And it's pretty quick, too! One whole waffle was big enough for me, my boyfriend ate about one and a half and my daughter ate about 2 hearts. So it didn't take long to feed us at all. Great little waffle iron! Also, you can change the setting depending on how crispy you like your waffles. Nice feature! : )

For the price, this is a good little waffle maker. It was smaller than I expected - it makes 5 heart waffles at a time, and that size is what an adult would need to eat. However, each little heart is perfect for our 3 children who are age 6 and under. The three year old only eats 3 of the little waffles total. The waffles are flat like store-bought eggos, thus they cook up very quickly, unlike a belgian waffle maker. Also, they will hold less syrup, so better for the kids. Cleanup is a breeze, too, and storage is easy b/c it is small. The booklet comes w/ recipes, but we just use store-bought pancake/waffle mix and have no problems. Two cups of mix (to make 12 pancakes) makes about 25 or so of the little heart waffles (in 5-heart batches). This is plenty to feed 3 kids and 2 adults. Overall, I'm very pleased with the waffle maker.

I am very pleased with my purchase of the Kalorik heart-waffle maker. I was looking for one in Canada where i live, but none were available. Overstock's was very reasonably-priced.I tried the waffle-maker this weekend, and was very happy with the results. For the low price I paid, I got a machine that makes waffles according to your liking (with 5 settings of crispiness to choose from), a light that turns from red to green when the waffle is ready (but no beeper), and also a design that ensures that if too much batter was put in, the overflow pours onto your counter (which is easily cleaned) rather than on the waffle maker itself. I had been considering other more pricey products, but after reading a bunch of reviews saying that alot of them were a hassle to clean, I finally decided that this criteria was important to me. So I compromised on the beeper and other fancy extras, but I got the basics right - no-stick, easy clean, very compact, low price, quick bake - and of course the heart-shape design, so romantic.

If you want to feed a crowd, this isn't the waffle maker for you.However, saying that, I ordered it based on the reviews although the "cutsey" heart shape wasn't, and isn't, to my liking. Figuring my stomach wouldn't know if the waffles were heart shaped or square, I ordered it.Easy directions, easy cleanup, easy heat-up, not much guesswork tho it took a couple of trials and errors not to ovefill it, where, when the top closed, the batter spilled out.Overall, a really good waffle maker for a single or a 2-some, as all four cooked waffle hearts will fill a dinner plate, then pour in more batter for plate #2.Nice bargain Overstock,

I've been looking for a small waffle iron, that makes thin waffles (don't like the thick waffles). This product makes perfect waffles. The iron heats up fast. The best. Can't say more about it. It's perfect. Thank you Overstock.com.

I've wanted a waffle maker for quite a while, but was reluctant to spend a lot on one. When I saw the incredible price on this one I pounced, and I'm happy I did! It's a lot smaller than I expected which led to a little disappointment when I first opened it, but after using it I discovered they come out rather large. The lights tell you when it's done, the temperature adjuster lets you pick the perfect way you like them cooked, I couldn't have asked for a better waffle maker...at Any price!!!

I am very pleased with my Kalorik waffle maker! I found that it works best for me on the "2" heat setting, and it doesn't take very long to cook the waffles to perfection. I like that I don't need to use vegetable oil, either! I used oil initially, but forgot on the 2nd waffle, but it didn't stick. So, now I don't use oil on the plates, but I do add some in the batter. And clean-up is easy, too!

Loved the heart's. But it wasn't crispy like a waffle more like a heart shaped pancake.

The Kalorik Black Heart-shaped waffle maker is a great size and I use it often. All I have to do is make one and I'm done. The only thing is that it sticks sometimes but not enough for me to stop using it. I've had this waffle maker for quite a few years and would and have recommend it to my friends and family often
